Very helpful!
I didn't complete all of the exercises in this workbook but even doing the parts that I completed and reading the content, I found it very helpful. It reminded me what's really important in life (family, friends, our character, etc) and what is so less important (external appearance). Even though I had struggled with self acceptance of my appearance most of my life (being rather plain and now old!) I found myself letting go of so much of that and embracing who I am and how I can contribute in the world rather than focusing on appearance. Very good book!

Great resource
As a therapist I find this book to be an incredibly helpful resource to use with clients. While I don’t think manualized treatments work for everyone, sometimes they do! I’ve had clients work through this book while in treatment, and sometimes I’ve just given certain worksheets.I also think it’s helpful for anyone to work through on their own if you’re not ready to seek therapeutic treatment.

Not Great for eating disorders
Bought this text as a clinician working with eating disorder groups. It has some helpful suggestions but I don't think that it is helpful for such a clinical population. Many of the topics are not appropriate for those who are suffering from eating disorders. This book may be a helpful starting point for clinicians but it will also require considerable clinical judgment.

Really really good
This is a great inclusive and gently directive workbook I use with my Psychotherapy clients. Very thorough, and covers a lot of ground- some body image issues are not written about as much as body size. Even though the book is grounded in “body”, I use this book as a supplement to my work with clients- women with hair loss, and facial differences. It’s really wonderful. Highly recommend to therapists to use as workbook with clients.

Extremely useful book
I purchased this book on the suggestion of my therapist. I am not ashamed to admit I have struggled with body image issues my entire life. So far, we're working through Step 1 so the jury is still out, but from what I have read the content is pertinent and useful.

A must read for learning to love your body
My Phycologist recommended this book and all my friends are now doing it. It’s a really great book for body dysmorphia. I’m learning a lot as a parent as well, and the principles can be applied to other area of life as well.

omg it actually helped - didn’t even need to finish it
I only did the first few pages of this and really didn’t work on it, but somehow it did go into my consciousness - it has reduced my BDD, I would guesstimate it’s knocked at least 10% off my worrying time. Without putting ANY effort in. So will pick it up again and do it properly. Good luck xx

Difficult stuff
This workbook forces you to look at some difficult issues in your life experience. By following it step by step it assists you in examining the reasons for body image problems and what to do about them.I would highly recommend that you work through this book only with the assistance of a trusted mental health professional.
