Fast. Effective. Easy. In other words: the BEST!
This is easily the most effective and inexpensive way to deal with ants. Here in Florida, we have tiny little ants. They're so small, I'd need a magnifying glass to count their legs. You could fit one of these ants on the head of a pin... and still have room to spare. But, they stream in from everywhere. And they bite, but by the time you realize you're itchy, they're gone. And, because they're so tiny, you never even felt them on your foot or arm or whatever. I tried mixing water, borax, and a sweetener (sugar, honey, corn syrup, or maple syrup) and making my own traps. It worked okay, but not good enough. Not even close. Then, we tried Terro products sold in pre-loaded, clear plastic traps. It worked pretty well, but varied with where we put the traps. But, when it worked... wow! The ants were gone within 24 hours. In some areas of our kitchen, they never came back. In other places, it's been a continuous battle, and those Terro traps aren't inexpensive. Plus that, they dry out and you need to replace them. The answer is Terro liquid. This product is inexpensive, easy to dispense, and it works really, REALLY well. We see results in about 12 hours. Basically, they swarm all over the liquid, take it back to the nest and share it, and all the ants that ate it, die. The kit comes with a few small, cardboard pieces with bulls-eye shapes. You'll put a few drops of the Terro liquid on each of them, and set them out. That may be all you need. Here in Florida, where the ant nests must be massive (or lots of them), I'm using a sheet of white card stock - the kind they put inside folded shirts at upscale stores. (My husband brought home a couple of sheets from his workplace, because they use card stock there.) But, you could use any of the card stock inserts in magazines or junk mail. I cut them into small squares - under one-inch - and put a few drops of Terro liquid on each. I set out about two or three per area where we've seen ants. From my experience, the results are one extreme or the other: In some locations, the ants are gone, overnight. In others, the ants are gone, and then the next wave show up, a day or two later. Each successive wave is smaller in number. But, every 12 - 24 hours, I need to refresh these homemade traps with fresh dots of Terro liquid. Otherwise, it dries and forms something like a clear, shiny solid. The ants seem to go up to it, but they don't flock to it. That's why Terro liquid is the best deal, instead of the Terro pre-made traps. The latter dry out and you have to buy more. But, with Terro liquid, you have enough to make your own, fresh traps for at least 30 days, and possibly longer. I've tried every borax + sweetener recipe I've found, online, and NOthing comes close to the effectiveness of Terro liquid. Of course, this product is poisonous, and it probably tastes sweet, so it should never be used where children or pets might ingest it. But, if you have ants, this is easily the very best way to get rid of them. And that includes those nasty, tiny ants we have in Florida, as well as larger, garden-variety ants.

TERRO Liquid Ant Killer: Ghost Ant Apocalypse in a Bottle (Seriously, It Works!)
Listen, if you've ever battled ghost ants in your home, you know it's not a fight for the faint of heart. These tiny terrors seem to materialize out of thin air and multiply faster than a bad rumor. But fear not, my fellow ant-warriors, because TERRO Liquid Ant Killer is here to save the day. The Good News (aka The Ant-pocalypse): It's the Real Deal: Other ant baits have failed me miserably, but TERRO delivers the sweet, sweet vengeance I crave. Ghost ants gobble this stuff up like it's the last drop of nectar on Earth, and then they carry their doom back to the nest, where it wipes out the entire colony. Simplicity Itself: No complicated traps, no messy sprays. Just a few drops of this magical elixir and the ants are drawn in like moths to a flame (a flame that also happens to kill them). Safe and Effective: The active ingredient, borax, is surprisingly safe for humans and pets, but deadly to those pesky ghost ants. The Not-So-Good News: Patience is a Virtue: It takes a few days for the bait to work its way through the colony, so you'll have to tolerate the little buggers a bit longer. The Ant Buffet: Be prepared for an initial increase in ant activity as they swarm the bait. It's like inviting them to a feast before their demise. Overall: If you're looking for a surefire way to eradicate ghost ants, look no further than TERRO Liquid Ant Killer. It's a lifesaver for those of us in the South who suffer through their annual invasion. Trust me, this stuff works. It's like a tiny bottle of ant armageddon, and I'm here for it.

WOW. WOW. 48 hours to wipeout. Plus it stays gooey enough to attract them at least a week after.
Update: I forgot to add a long time ago, that after the colonies were almost wiped out, some slightly smaller ants came and did not take sugar bait. I think these may have been the eggs that were remaining hatched or nursery ants, or something along those lines. But what worked was mixing a tiny, tiny amount of mayonaise with this. It makes a thick gel with just a bit. Just a tiny bit of the oil or the egg from mayo makes it attractive to the new ants again. They don't seem to care that it is sugar and mayonaise. Original: I think I'm dealing with Argentine ants, so results may vary from mine. I took pictures along the way because some reviews said it was a while to see results. The effect was noticeable in less than a day in my case. In less than 2 days, they were gone and I mean didn't see them anywhere inside or outside for a few days. That is astounding because this time of the year they spend a lot of time probably under the house foundation slab or inside the walls where it isn't so hot. Any food or drink that is dropped this time of year anywhere inside will result in a big trail of them by the morning if not entirely cleaned up. It is just awful this time of year. The day the package came, I noticed a few ants on the windowsill by my desk, and I mean only a few. So I put this down and in 10 minutes there were a lot. Then it was a rapidly increasing amount until there was steady flow coming and going around an hour in. Since I had planned on placing this stuff all over the place outside, I had also bought straight boric acid, and made a homemade batch of boric acid and sugar water. I bought Terro as comparison to see what commercial stuff does. I put the homemade stuff next to the Terro. While it could be possible that homemade stuff was the reason the ants were stopped, I had placed only Terro in another place on the other side of the house and that place showed the same 48 hour results. So I know Terro works. The homemade stuff probably does as well. The Terro seems to stay in a gel state for a while though, while the homemade stuff dries out in hours. The ants will still take both, but I think it is easier for them to get the old Terro versus dried out homemade. If they have old Terro and dried out homemade, there are many more of them trying to get the Terro. The pictures don't do the number of ants justice since I didn't include the area near the homemade stuff and the bait on the other side of the house which had several times the number of ants. I kept adding bait as it was taken away. There must have been thousands of ants who filled up and took it back, so probably many times that were fed back at the nest. There was a frenzy for much of the first day, and even before 24 hours, there was a big reduction in numbers. Later on, they even left some bait almost untouched versus it being so crowded at first that some climbed on top of the puddles to get to it. By 48 hours, it was a ghost town, and was like that for days. There were no ants walking around anywhere, except a few out in the yard. Not near the house. Maybe 4 or 5 days later, a few would show up in random places in the house, which I think were newly hatched ants. A week later, a larger amount found a sugary drink in the sink and were streaming in. I think they were maybe from a colony out in the yard. But they also had found the old Terro bait on their own, which was not in the kitchen. I had thought it was too dried out since it had been there for almost a week, but they were at it. I put some new Terro out, and after a period of high numbers, the amount of ants dramatically fell off in hours. By 12 hours, they were gone again. I am completely impressed.

Be Patient!
HAVE PATIENCE, The Liquid ant poison (Borax) works well, BUT it will take up to one to two weeks to see complete results. I started to see results in 3 to 4 days. What happens is the colony ants bring the poison/borax back to the Queen ant. Initially, I found it very difficult not to kill the ants. It's important when you see the ants eat the Borax NOT to kill them. Let the colony ants bring the poison/Borax back to the Queen. They weren't kidding when they said "patience is a virtue". I simply put three drops on tin foil then slipped it under the refrigerator & stove. Within three to four days I noticed less ants. By the end of the week I had only two ants that I saw. My kitchen wasn't infested with ants but there were enough where the liquid borax was necessary. After the solution is down for 3 days it's best to apply two more drops to keep the bait fresh. In my case I noticed more activity at night.

Say Goodbye To Your Problems With Ants!
I am one of those jerks who relies on other people’s reviews, but hardly ever contribute any myself. I’ve decided to mend my ways and write reviews for products that are exceptionally good- and this is certainly one of those! I am only reviewing the Terro Ant Baits I purchased from Amazon, but I have bought other forms of the product elsewhere with the same EXCELLENT results. Fortunately, we have never had a problem with ants getting into the house- probably because we have so much stuff that they absolutely LOVE outside of the house- berry bushes, fruit trees, a pond, and of course the irresistible food, water, and treats we have outside year-round for the neighborhood stray cats. We had a couple of unseasonably-warm Spring days last week, and sure enough, these pesky pests showed up and SWARMED on the cat treats and kibble. I searched the house for some Terro Ant Bait that I could have sworn we had left from last year, but alas, could not find any. Ants swarming on the bowls of cat food is disgusting, and something we simply don’t put up with any more. I wasn’t even willing to wait one day for a Prime delivery, so I set out looking for Terro in local stores. The first place I looked at didn’t have any in stock, and again- I was not willing to try a different brand, because the Terro works so well. The very first time we tried it last year, my husband and I couldn’t help but ignore the instructions on the packaging that says ‘monitor activity but do not interfere with the ants or baits’ because it was strangely fascinating to watch… the packaging does say that the product is specially formulated so that it is not immediately lethal to the ants, but is designed for a delayed action that allows the worker ants to carry it back to the nest and feed the poison to their compadres. This is certainly true; it took several days, but we saw less and less ant activity as the days went on. However, some ants did die right away… the product we tried first was a clear station filled with clear liquid- ants enter the opening on one end, crawl in and grab some of sweet, thick, liquid, and leave through the same opening. Welp. We still aren’t sure what happened- whether some of the idiots over-indulged in the poison; or lost their senses, became overwhelmed and drowned in the liquid… but like I said, it was strangely fascinating to watch as many ants never made it out of the station alive, or else simply dropped dead a few short inches from the station. We did move the stations around several times after the initial placement, trying to get them closer to the trails, but that wasn’t necessary, as we learned after subsequent placements. Anyway… I can’t say enough good things about this product. Every form it is sold in works exactly as intended- the lawn stakes placed at the holes in the ground where the ants emerge from, the clear stations placed along the wall, the liquid on a square of cardboard laid along the trails- all combined, turned into the perfect perimeter defense AND we are not the slightest bit worried that we are also poisoning our fruit, the neighborhood strays, our pond fish, nor any other local wildlife because we are not. As the title says, if you have been plagued by ants, and think you have tried everything- including the homemade borax-and-sweet-syrup-or-peanut-butter- then you haven’t tried Terro, because once you do, your ant problems will be gone for good!

Kills within 24 to 48 hrs
I now have a years supply to take care of any that come inside and the ones outside. This stuff os messy but it works fast. Ive been using plastic lids to keep the stickiness to a minimum. Its so easy to use, just place dots of it down and they eat it up and take it back to the queen.

Can be MESSY, but VERY effective when used correctly!
How you use this stuff is important. My abbreviated guidance: 1) More small puddles are better than one giant puddle of TERRO stuff 2) Don't kill, wipe up, or disturb the ants. Use their process to help your process. Find their trails. 3) Trust that this stuff works. 4) You want a good trap at SOURCE, plus a trap or two along their trail you can watch 5) If after you've given it a whirl, but you keep seeing ants, you didn't do your homework correctly. : ) 6) FIND the SOURCE and place your best trap there. 7) Use the stuff WISELY, not WILDLY!! About 30-40 drops of the stuff will kill HUNDREDS of ants!! Now... for a bit more verbose how-to: ================================= Instructions on the package and in the product description here say to place drop puddles of the stuff for ants to come and FEED off... I agree with that.. But rather than making ONE GIANT puddle (the size of a coin, for instance, ~20-25mm 3/4" to 1"), I have found that it's much more effective to make MULTIPLE SMALL puddles (the size of a hole punch... 5-7mm or ~1/4 in" MAX) with that same distance between puddles... So instead of one big puddle, I'd fit in about 4 to 6 smaller ones in the same space... using less liquid but attracting more ants! When there's one giant puddle, you can only feed as many ants as can fit around its circumference; but with lots of little puddles, you can feed a whole lot more, because they arrange themselves around the circumference of every smaller puddle, and they eat a lot more efficiently. So... it takes less time for the TERRO to do its thing and get the stuff carried back to their nest. My recommendation is NOT to go wild stomping on or swooping in to wipe up ants when you find them... LEAVE THEM IN PLACE and find their trails. This stuff is effective, so they'll get "got", but if you interrupt their flow, you may never really know if you're placing your traps in reasonable places. So when you see ants, get a powerful flashlight and trace the ant trails back to a WALL or WINDOW or a HEAT VENT or a HOLE in the FLOOR... or wherever they gained entry. Ants are very intelligent and ingenious creatures. There is a logical order to how they got from your window to your desk or bed or table or whatever... but it might take some detective work on your part to find that trail. They often won't choose the straight line because they don't want to get steppped on and smashed. They know better. So they'll go around the edge, or maybe crawl up a table leg, even across the bottom of the table, then back down again at the other side if that's their best perceived route. Until you find the full trail, from ENTRY SOURCE to the final CRUMB COLLECTION they're nibbling on, you won't be able to trap them so well along the way. Be patient and mimic their process. I've even gone so far as to take a couple extra days to even start "killing them" because I can't find how they're getting from one place to another. So I might lay white paper down on top of carpet or dark-tile floor to let them use it as a "freeway" and speed their transit so I can better find and see their trail! Then, once I have a better idea how they got from one place to another seeming illogical place I found them... I set about to trapping them and poisoning this little freeway trail I just laid for them. We also don't use the little cardboard squares; we use post-it notes with the non-stick edge folder up as a little handle to lift it back up after all is finished. Just be careful not to place puddles too near the edges (of cardboard or post-it notes). Else, you may have some difficulty cleaning up the sticky stuff left over when the ants finish up. Then plan to place your traps at each end, and a couple test places along the trail, so you get them all. Concentrate the best collection of puddles of the stuff as near as possible to the ENTRY point. Sometimes that may take a few days to get right. But once you think you've found their ENTRY point, and have placed the puddle trap... keep an eye on it every day, and drip a few more drops on if they eat it all up. This stuff WORKs, and it WORKS WELL and fairly QUICKLY. (I've never had it take the two weeks it says to wait... Usually the way we do it, leaving three or four post-its by the discovered point of entry and several feet apart along their favorite trail... it's all over within 3-4 days or so, max) I really kind of hate to have to poison these super intelligent creatures. But I also don't like them taking over my living space, if one of us does something stupid like drop crumbs or sticky sweets somewhere, and the ants show up and illuminate our folly. So, I have to resort to TERRO to take back my space, and then educate the offending crumb-dropper to try and ensure it doesn't happen again. Still, tho, I'm always fascinated by their persistence and drive to survive! : )

Wonder The verdict is in and it works
I bought this over the trap due to reading some reviews on both. I live in an apartment building on the second flor and I am getting an ant or 2 daily in my apartment. There is not a large amount but I wanted to nip it in the bud before it became a problem. So I bought this and put 2 spots down 1 in living room and 1 in kitchen. I watched the ant go around the one in the kitchen like it was not there. The one in the living room dried up over night and is now just think enough for the ant to walk on top of and never eat a thing. Bottom line in the house so far it was done nothing. Now outside on the corner of my building are thousands of ants and I am hoping that is where my 1 or 2 a day come from. So I squirted 4 or 5 puddles on the cement right around the spot I know the ants go into the ground. With in a few hours all the spots where covered in ants eating it. I have done this 3 days in a row and the same thing each day. So yes outside it is attracting them is it killing them I do not know. Inside it has not worked at all. I will up date in a week or so. UPDATE This has worked so well I have not only ordered more for myself but have 2 other family members buying it as well. It did take more than 1 applicate and I had to redo it again about 3 weeks after the first time I stop seeing ants as a new smaller any started to move into the old nest. That newer nest only took a week to knock out. I have used this both inside and out side on a covered porch and also in a shed and it has worked in all spots. I did run out of the paper dots so I tore up some old christmas cards and used the shiny side for the liquid. Worked wonderful and for a larger infections you can out more puddles than 1 at a time using am old card.

Parece eficaz

Bloody Ants
I moved into a new home only to find that as soon as I started using the kitchen I was inundated with ants. I used this product once, leaving small amounts on top of my kitchen counter and allowed the ants to congregate and eat the product (this was hard as I just wanted to spray them). The next morning I cleaned up the sticky half-dried fluid and I have not seen another ant since. Good stuff
