Works just fine.
My dogs are seniors now and are on daily meds that I have to cut in half to administer. I got tired of using a butter knife to do this, so I went about searching for a better option and landed on this. I've never had a pill splitter before, so I don't have any frame of reference, but I can tell you it's MUCH better than a butter knife. I like the flexible yet sturdy lining; I can fit any size tablet in here. One thing I have learned is that I need to be precise with lining up the indent in the tablet so that it's in line with the cutter, otherwise I won't have a good result (re: smashed pill). Also, I can only do one pill at a time; trying to do two at once is too much for the cutter and results in smashed pills. My method is to line the indent of the pill up with the cutter, get it firmly set into the embrace of the silicone, then smack the lid down fast and with intent. Works like a charm. I have not had any issues opening it up getting the pills out. It's also easy to rinse out any residue if needed.

Amazing pocket-sized pill splitter
Don’t listen to the bad reviews! This split my pills perfectly and is so easy to use. You don’t have use much force at all and it can accommodate pills of all sizes.

Very effective
I needed a pill cutter, so I ordered one from Amazon, like I always do. It was flimsy and weak, and took a LOT of squeezing to cut a pill. Not a happy camper. So I resumed my search and found this one. The silicone holds the pill in place better, and it’s more sturdy. I’m pleased with this one.

It cuts the pills
It pretty much cuts my pills and does the job. Sometimes it slips a little and I don’t get a clean cut. I don’t use it that often but it gets the job done when I do

Will be getting more
Got this for my mother who would use a knife to cut her pills and would bother me. It is easy to use with no heavy strength needed. The pills split very nicely and keeps your fingers safe. Small enough it doesn't take up too much space and very versatile.

Safety warning: Large exposed blade—badly cut my finger
Safety warning: Large exposed blade—badly cut my finger I purchased this pill cutter from Amazon and badly cut my finger on its large, exposed blade. When the lid is open, the sharp blade is easily accessible, which raises serious safety concerns. Based on my experience, I believe Amazon should stop selling this product until its safety design is improved. If you purchase it or already own one, use extreme caution and keep it well out of children’s reach—it could seriously injure them. I’ve included photos to show the exposed blade and my bandaged finger. I would not recommend this product.

Easy to use
Works great! Needed to be able to cut a pill in half and it had no line in the middle. Easy to use.

Works hard
If you are older I can see this being a problem. The pill doesn't stay in place and you really have to push it closed after 5 uses. The clean up is really easy but the cutting not so much, but for the price not bad. And when it does cut it doesn't fall apart like my old one that I got at Walmart.
