Will this work in a claw foot tub?

Yes the bath mat and pillow combo should work in a claw foot tub. The most important part is having a surface that is perfectly flat. Sometime an older tub may have chips or cracks that are not noticeable but can impeded the suction cups from sticking to the surface.

What is the thickness of the mat?

This Extra Long Bath Pillow & Mat combo is 1 inch thick with an extra thick pillow top which is 2 inches thick. The pillow top is 7 inches long x 15 inches wide.
