I installed a Pumpspy backup pump with my primary sump pump (Liberty 257) using this kit. Everything went together quickly/easily. When you consider everything you get in the kit and the time you will save, it's a good value. Here are the 3 reasons I like this kit... 1. Convenience: This kit makes installing a backup pump a simpler/faster/easier job. It has everything you need, so you won't be making multiple trips to the big box store to piece together all the PVC fittings, couplers and check valves to duplicate the same functionality. You won't be measuring, cutting or gluing any PVC. The result is a fast/clean installation. 2. Compact Design: With this kit, my primary and backup pumps sit together as closely as possible and both fit in the sump pit with room to spare. I have both pumps sitting on 2.5" spacers on the bottom of the sump pit, and everything still sits below floor level...so I only have a single discharge line passing through the pit cover. Having 1 sump discharge line makes things much simpler if you have an air-tight sump pit cover. 3. Quiet Check Valves: The check valves are extremely quiet and work better than other "silent" valves I have used before. With my pit cover installed, I can't hear the sump pump cycle on/off. The check valves also thread directly into the output of each pump to keep the installation simple and compact. Other Observations: My primary pump and the Pumpspy backup pump did not require drilling any air lock holes. The only fabrication involved in my installation was a spacer under the backup pump to ensure both pumps were sitting at the same level.

Very necessary part. I installed a backup sump pump to be safe during power outages. Better safe than sorry. All hardware was included and was easy to install. Cost was much less than big box stores.

Is well configured to allow 2 sump pumps in a 15x15 pit. All parts included that eliminate need to purchase check valves, connectors and PVC connectors and glueing.
