My 1999 suburban with barn doors has a spring that is on the pin ?? Do I put the old spring back on this new black part ?

Yes take whatever is on the old one that is removable which I think is just the spring, and the pin that holds it to the body. And you're good to go mine went on perfectly and they were 1/3 the price of a factory one they are working perfect can't go wrong just like new

It can work on the left or the right just have to flip it over to work on either door
