This is a high quality Mortar and Pestle. It is heavy in weight with a nice finish that you would see in 5 star restaurants. The product was ordered and shipped in a few days. We have used it a number of times for grinding and especially liked the extra deep design so no food was spilled. The majority of pestle I have used were always very shallow and difficult to grind without spilling. I would highly recommend this product and purchasing other products from Brandon Basics.

Better than a molcajete!!
This is a wonderful tool for the home chef! It has a deep basin which makes it perfect for grinding up fresh herbs, spices and seeds without spilling them all over the counter. Its also heavy which makes it very stable. The black granite is beautiful and is lovely enough to display on my kitchen shelf. I would highly recommend this product to any home cook - so much better than a molcajete!

This is an excellent quality mortar and pestle. It is easily 3 times the size of a more traditional one which means less "pop corning" of peppercorns or other hard items. Unlike other stone mortars I have owned in the past this one was crafted from a single piece of stone and therefore is far more resistant to damage if dropped, I love it and will be sending it to friends and family this coming Christmas.

Love it!
Shopped around quite a bit before choosing this product; really happy with it. Very high quality, including the pestle. The flat bottom is great and the silicone lid-non slip base is fabulous and prevents any moving around while using. It is so beautiful, I keep it on my counter all the time. The black granite is gorgeous!
