After purchasing tomkat mouse snap trap, I caught one mouse. Now they can take the bait without triggering the trap. Any suggestions?

use peanut butter and bait outside the circle toward the hinged area. place some peanut butter on top of the inside area toward the hinged area. this way the mouse must climb further inside the trap for it to snap and capture them.

What do you bait them with?

I use chunky peanut butter at the back of the trap beyond the circle. I have caught 7 mice in 5 days with a single trap.

Can these be used outside?

I've used them just outside the front door - but with a wire attached (just drill two small holes in the side to loop it through and twist) to a paint stir stick, so the local carnivores don't run off with a free meal AND the trap.

Where is this manufactured ?

The box says the traps are manufactured in China.
