Don't waist your money
Once if figured out how to use it it sucks down pretty tight. The instructions are confusing!!! I waisted 2 or 3 bags just trying to figure it out. It works fair if you seal something and put it in the freezer immediately. (Freezes b4 the air leaks out). However looking at items in the freezer reveals it lost some air prior to freezing. Last night I put a pork chop in the bag sucked it down and sealed it and put in the fridge. Went to get it out and it had lost all of the seal. I might as well put it in a zip lock bag.... The way you have to get both edges under the little guide for the vacuum is a pain. When you view the help video here on Amazon it shows you how to seal a potato chip bag.... Really. How about the expensive bags that come with it, that won't hold a seal. Waist of time calling customer service, as they were no help. Another cheap plastic item from China!!!! Beware!!!Fyi Amazon does not take the return so has to go to manufacturer. I won't hold my breath trying to get my money back. Another Chinese product headed for the trash bin!!!!

Works Great!!!
I watched a lot of bad reviews, then I watched YouTube videos. I too had a couple of "bad" vacuum seals. When I looked at them closely I noticed I had not straightened the bag properly and had wrinkles causing it not to seal properly. As for the cutting tool, if you place the bag smooth side up it cuts easily. I have had no problems. In short any problems I have had can be put down to user error.

good with minor issues
The Mesliese Vacuum is a commendable addition to my kitchen. The machine efficiently seals various food items, maintaining their freshness up to ten times longer than conventional methods. However, while the overall build quality is impressive, there have been occasional reports of the heating strip melting through the bags during sealing, which is worth noting. This vacuum sealer stands out due to its user-friendly design, including a built-in cutter and five pre-cut bags for convenience. The "Dry & Moist" and "Normal & Soft" modes cater to different food types, making it highly adaptable. The compact size and stainless steel finish ensure it occupies minimal counter space and is easy to clean. The powerful motor supports up to 20 consecutive seals, which is ideal for bulk food storage.A minor critique is that while the machine is compact, it does not feature internal storage for bag rolls, which could enhance its convenience. Despite this, the 12mm widened heating strip ensures a secure seal, and the machine's quick vacuum and sealing times are highly efficient. Additionally, the 5-year warranty provides peace of mind for long-term use.Overall, the Mesliese Vacuum Sealer Machine is a reliable and efficient tool for food preservation, offering excellent value for its price. It’s a kitchen gadget that not only saves money by reducing food waste but also ensures your food stays fresh and delicious. Definitely a nifty gadget for any home cook!

Nice food sealer
I was a bit hesitant to buy the Power XL sealer based on the reviews, but my experience has been so much better than some of those reviews. As soon as I opened the box I had to try the unit out. Very easy to operate, and my first attempt to seal went super. Now I've used the seal/vacuum feature several times on meat, chicken and other items to keep them ready to use while in the freezer. I would recommend the PowerXL Duo NutriSealer Food Vacuum Sealer Machine

Both didn't work!!
Had to return my first PowerXL (would not lock, seal, or vacuum. Got the replacement a few days later. Used it once to test it. Worked just ok. It locked, sealed and vacuumed fair. Took it out today, to vacuum/seal some things from a 4th July party. Got lock, got seal, BUT NO vacuum. I am not new to this vacuum/seal machines. Have had a few over the years. I wanted the PowerXL for the double sealing. Buyer beware, not as advertised!!!

not as expected
I have had mine for a year and have had issues with the vacuum and seal features. The bag has to be put in just perfect or it will not vacuum then seal. One trick is to hold the bag even with the machine as the vacuum feature is working, not convenient with all items of course. I believed in the brand PowerXL and that was a mistake because of too many flaws. When closing the machine use EXTREME caution. I now have a crack in the top, the vacuum does not work any longer. The clips didn't line up and I did not pay attention so the top cracked before the clips moved into place. I am now looking for another sealer that has fewer flaws. This is great for sealing and making bags but not vacuuming.
