What you see if what you get. Great for the price, will be added to my camping gear collection.

Standard US military type canteen, cup and carry pouch. Everything appears well made, the metal cup can withstand boiling water over a campfire, the carry pouch seems a little tight over the cup, but appears to be well made. The canteen is plastic and holds a quart of water.

Great Item, recommended for the outdoor person

I had used a genuine GI issued M-1961 when in the boy scouts. This canteen is a reasonable clone for my intended use. For casual hikes and camping I have been building out a grab-and-go kit with everything I'd want. I prefer canteens to bladders (maybe due to nostalgia) and remembered that my M-1961 had been a reliable companion, so I took a chance on this well-priced alternative. Since I wanted to minimize complexity and weight, the folding utensil and can cup were attractive. I'd give this a 4.5 and round up because I expected it to be slightly inferior to military grade construction. The canteen sheath is well enough insulated for casual use. I expect that the fabrics will wear faster than a GI canteen, but seems robust enough at this price point. The Alice clips are slightly more robust than I expected. I haven't decided if I will swap them for Molle straps yet, but they weren't a dealbreaker for me. As long as the thing stays firmly on my belt without deteriorating quickly or chafing I'll be satisfied, so I will update this review if it falls apart. The canteen itself is completely satisfactory. It seems to fit well, and its dimensions and function are comparable to the M-1961. I'd be curious if the plastic is chemically different, but superficially it seems fine. The tool and pouch are roughly as expected - small, light, and well-contained by the small pouch. I'll know where my utensil is without adding much weight, which is what I wanted. The metal is a tier below military grade so I don't expect it to last forever, but it's acceptable for my more casual use. Overall a good buy for me. If you are looking for a military grade package, this is a tier below it. If instead you want a military style package at a good price for more casual use, maybe give this a try!

This canteen is exceptional for the price, ($15 black friday deal) and I'm using it more than I expected. The quality of the canvas pouch seems much better than some of the reviews claim, as does the rest of the kit, so I suspect there have been improvements. The canvas is nice and thick with a fleece liner, my snaps were snappy but that can be a hit or miss, I just got lucky most likely. The cup and spork were a nice addition and seem sturdy, I doubt any of this is military grade but for what it is, it's perfect. One annoyance with canteens overall is the cap springs into your face when drinking but that is easily fixed by removing the plastic tab connecting it. That plastic is flexible so it can be slid into the canvas pouch if I ever wish to use it again for some reason. As someone who is very sensitive to taste, taste of water too no less, I've found that after a gentle wash with only hot water and shaking, there is no plastic taste at all. I thought I might've needed to include a bit of lemon juice to get past any taste but I never did. It's no different than drinking from a regular water bottle. My intention was to just have a nice military-esque source of water but with how nicely this all turned out to be, I would happily use it camping or keeping one in an emergency bag. I don't think the metal utensils will hold up in extreme conditions or for regularly boiling water, but they seem to be just fine for eating out of or serving warm meals like oatmeal or soups. If you're looking for a general purpose canteen for camping or keeping in your car, this is more than perfect. I imagine though, if you're looking for a guaranteed to never fail heavy duty survival tool, it may not hold up to those standards, so you can always just get a more expensive military issue canteen in that case.

It is a decent copy of a GI issue canteen. I love the sport that came with each canteen. The canteen carrier is no as robust nor is it insulated like an issue one but, it is functional. The alice clips are terrible but easily replaced with genuine clips. I used the gear and am very satisfied.

Firstly, and the main reason for the purchase, the canteen is good quality and does not leak! The very minor plastic odour was easily neutralised with a short bicarb and water rinse (probably not even necessary). The cup is a good size for boiling water or heating a meal in and fits over the bottom of the canteen taking up virtually no extra space when in the pouch. The stainless steel folding spork sits in a pocket in the pouch, is strong and very compact and the ferrule lock prevents it collapsing when in use. The pouch is made of very durable material and the belt clips hold securely to a belt if desired.

It's a canteen, Boiling cup, spork & case. It does what it's intended purpose is Canten bottle holds water and is water tight. Some mentioned seal is loose on bottle; mine seems to be affixed really well and doesn't move or leak. Canteen cup is decent and handles are sturdy. Not overly tight fitting in the case ir on the outside of the canteen like some have said. But fits snugly. Will work for it's intended purpose. Havent tried boiling any fluids in it, but will put it to use this weekend I'm opening day hunting season. The case is just a plain case, nothing fancy. It's not insulated at all, so in the heat/cold it could affect your liquids. There is a little room to accommodate some water purification tabs In the case along with the spork. I have a nice insulated case from one of my old army canteens that went MIA and I will switch out for use with this kit to provide some better insulating properties. During the colder months and warmer seasons of scouting. The spork is relatively sturdy, locks open and will serve it's intended purpose.l Over all for shipped to your door and under $25 Cdn you can't really go wrong. While it's not a Titanium kit, neither is the price on this kit. Definitely worth the $23 Cdn that was paid for it. And will consider ordering another kit for my Bird Bag Edit. Took this canteen set out for opening rifle season and she works really well. I went ultra light as I didnt have the family camping with. Cooked 6 meals, and probably 8 cups of coffee with it over then course of 3 days... Works awesome, Boils water and soup really quickly. Had the Billy can over an open flame countless times and it's no worse for wear just a quick wipe with my field bandana and the carbon is gone and it's ready for use again. Handles stay surprisingly cool to the touch even after coming right off the fire provided they arnt being touched by the fire. Spork works great for soups/noodles and what ever else you need to shovel into your mouth. Was great to be able to carry my billy kit with me and have the option to heat a warm beverage or a quick meal out in the field without returning to base camp. Definitely let me utilize more time afield, and the amount of weight I saved switching from a bladder to this billy sey with water purification tabs was a huge bonus and made my day that much more enjoyable. I save pounds with this switch. Definitely pleased with this purchase. And will be ordering a second unit.
