Loved the patter was super easy to follow and dress came out perfectly!!!

I am a beginner and this pattern has been one of my favorites. I love how you can use this pattern to make several variations of the dress that can all look unique. I have made several of these dresses for my eight year old. The trickiest part is flipping the belt ties right-side out. I recommend making the seams of the ties slightly larger to make the flipping part easier. The puff sleeves are a bit simpler to make than the sleeveless ruffles. Great beginning pattern and adorable dress!

I love this pattern. They give you a ton of info, it's all right there in the instructions and on the pattern also. Try not to rely on the pictures cause they're not great. Look up videos if you get stuck. It's like a cloth puzzle. I have some sewing experience but I've never done anything this advanced. I probably ripped 2500 stitches out of the first dress. the second one took me half as long. but they both turned out great and I'm already making 3 more. both dresses pictured were made with $1/yard cotton fabric. UPDATE: I've now made 6 more of these dresses and I get compliments on them all the time! This is a great pattern that can easily be completed in one day.

I'm an experienced beginner sewist who has mostly made crafts, quilted items and small pieces. This was one of my first experiences making a garment. I've made two of these dresses with great results. Highly recommend if you are looking to grow your sewing expertise in garment making.

The pattern has HORRIBLE instructions. The arm holes for open sleeve is skimpy and needs structural reinforcement. I created such from pattern pieces from bodice. Totally worked from there. I also cut a front and back for the open sleeve to have a smoother finish. I love the dress, as it came together. The variations offered were good. The closed sleeve was given better instruction. Be clear on sizing is uniform since some pieces of pattern were only specific to certain sizing. If one has sewing skills, it can be used and understood. Also note 1.5 inches from top of front and back bodice to set sleeves- easier than the following the 'dots.' Enjoy!

I now know that whenever a pattern says "Easy," that doesn't necessarily mean easy for a novice like me (probably "easy" for a experienced seamstress). Not that this one indicated "Easy," but the fact that it's a "Simplicity" made me think it would be (sigh - live & learn :). Anyway, some of the instructions were hard for me to understand and I found by listening to YouTubers that sometimes this happens when working with patterns from large manufacturers like Simplicity, McCalls, Butterick, etc. I plowed through and still sewed a very cute dress for my granddaughter - and she loves it! Even sleeps with it : ). She's only 4 so she can't see some of the mistakes (haha); all-in-all I had a good time sewing this and look forward to the next project.

I was shocked to find patterns on Amazon. It is truly an authentic Simplicity pattern.

This one is fairly easy one, it was so much fun to pick your fabric. DIY may not be cheapest way compare to buy from shop, cos cost of the fabric and time. But theres more fun and unique to make a dress for the one you love. Like other patterns i brought, this is a great pattern comes in different sizes. The paper/tissue paper is extremely flimsy, i was so worried about ripping it. I traced off the size that i needed to avoid to cut it. Im pleased that SA is included.
