Does the horrible smell go away? These shoes smell like very strong like the old permanent markers. Gives me a headache.

I love these shoes, but they are definitely not waterproof. The fabric soaks up water like a pair of socks. Treat them like you would a regular pair of sneakers and you'll be happy.

This is not a good idea. They have soft flexible soles.
