I bought this to replace my old BHG 11 FT offset umbella. I did not realize it was not made of fabric until I opened it - a big disappointment. Installation was quite easy and I liked the weight bags that came with it. I simply used the sand from the old umbella to fill the bags. I don't know how well this umbrella will hold under strong winds though because the umbrella top is not tightly secured to the pole. We do have a lot of Santa Ana winds in my area. I can see the umbrella top blown by the wind easily even with the umbrella in closed position. Will soon find out.

Good quality product

I get tons of compliments on this umbrella! Does a great job blocking sun, super pretty. My only complaint is that by design it only sits flat and doesn't angle, which is what we need it for the most. We've been able to make it work angled with a bungee cord

The deck in my house is facing east, and the dinning room next to the deck gets direct sunlight evey morning. It is a beautiful scene, however due to the heat from the deck, the hvac thermostat located in the dinning room only runs according to the temperature in the dinning room, which makes the other part of the house not that comfortable. To solve this issue, I purchased a patio umbrella 2,3 years ago, and it helped. However It was 8 feet diameter, not big enough, so i updated to a 10 feet umbrella this year. I struggled with the center based and side based, and finally went with this side based. According to my husband's words, once the side base is screwed down into the wood, he doesn't need to move in and out the umbrella before winter. Plus the base at the corner will not become the obstacle of other deck furnitures or kids toys, especially the air pop pool. I think it makes sense. It didn't take us long to put this umbrella up, and my husband said it looked solid, no matter the frame or the joints, and also very easy to operate.

We received an umbrella that did not work; however, customer service worked with us, were very quick and efficient and sent a brand new one that does work! We are satisfied with this purchase and would recommend, especially based on the customer service. Thanks!
