Lights are very bright. Dimming option was perfect. I found them easy to mount and they Stayed in place well

Let me preface this review by stating that I own another brand of hexagon puck lights (a set of 9), that I absolutely love but were no longer offered. Despite double checking that these were the same size and that the connectors (between the lights) looked the same as the pair I owned, I ordered these. This set is not compatible sadly. The connectors, while appearing identical, are not designed the same in the electrical lead sense. Also the USB cord has a mic and ir receiver built in that allows the remote to work with it. My other pair does not have that type of USB cord, it's just a plain one. Also these are NOT touch lights, like the pair I already owned.With that said, the lights in themselves are pretty neat. They don't have the 'touch' function but to be honest, I don't think many people even use that feature. I like the beat sync mode where it changes color to music. I do think that they are pretty overpriced though but won't let that opinion affect the star rating I give this product. Nor will the incompatibilty with my existing set affect the star rating. I wish more lights were included in this set as I find that it is very limiting (in terms of what designs you can create) with this set.

I'm a fool for LEDs, especially of the RGB variety. Something about the blinky lights and shifting colors mesmerizes me. It's a Sixties thing (ahem). I had seen similar products to this but they were more expensive than I could rationalize--as if anything rational enters into it, in the first place.The individual lamps are smaller than the photoshopped still images and tortured camera angles of the video in the product description above would (mis)lead you to believe. See the photo attached to this review for how one compares to my size Large hand.Having said all that, they are pretty cool. Setup is very simple and everything required is thoughtfully included. Besides the seven lamp modules there are a USB-A cable, wall outlet adapter, remote control (CR2025 battery included), adhesive mounting pads and couplers. The linked app gives more control options but if, like me, you don't like installing apps from unknown sources based in some particular countries of origin it is still possible to enjoy the light show without it.Said light show includes a choice of patterns, solid, mixed and alternating colors, brightness, speed, set patterns or variable in response to environmental sounds (ie: music).Overall, it's a colorful and entertaining gadget for yourself or as a gift for another geek. On balance, I'll give it five stars for the completeness of the set and its entertainment value, though it is tempting to knock off a point for the slightly deceptive marketing. Also, be sure to comparison shop for price among the many similar sets available.
