E-commerce Get It Right!: Essential Step by Step Guide for Selling & Marketing Products Online. Insider Secrets, Key Strategies & Practical Tips - Simplified for Your StartUp & Small Business Review: Serious Tips for Stores - I am working through the book but I've found Daniel's style easy to follow and apply. I am a web designer who works with many ecommerce owners. Reading this book helps me help my customers. I apply design and user experience for stores to reduce confusion and cinch the sale. Understanding how to successfully execute ecommerce is critical to store success. One criticism is for the self published book. Ian Daniel did not follow book design and layout convention. The printed book is without consistent margin, especially on the top. You would not think this would trouble you, but it made it more difficult for me. The screenshots and visuals are top notch and help make the point. I am grateful for the book and ask the author to bring on a book designer to help in future editions. I do not know if the book is available as an ebook but will look for it. Review: U.K. Oriented But Helpful - While this book is informative and does a good job of simplifying explanations, it became apparent that the author of this book was writing from a "here in the U.K." perspective. The information was helpful, but when it came to talking about legal considerations, those given were for the U.K. market. I am going to keep this book, as it did offer much information, food for thought, and helpful advice. The only thing I would have liked to have seen more of would be lists of recommended or best-rated resources. Those given were few and far between.

The most valuable guide for any ecommerce websites
Looking through all the books in amazon regarding ecommerce, I found this book with a lot of stars and amazing reviews. I didn't want to buy it at first. I was thinking and also looking for something very new or recently published book that has all the new information but I was really wrong after I made my purchase of this book. I'm reading half of this book now and I've already changed a lot of things in my websites and business according to the author. This book gave me the power and knowledge on doing business online from the scratch. I've been in ecommerce for few months and I knew I was missing something, and this book gives me in depth knowledge of what to do and what not to. The best thing is that the author actually replied me with the suggestions when I told him my problems. Please DO NOT THINK TWICE or be confused like me to buy this book. You will miss the whole ecommerce knowledge-database if you miss this book. Thanks to Daniel for this wonderful eye-opener.

Great book! Highly recommended.
Out of all the different books I buy each year for a random assortment of reasons, this one is the one that fit exactly what I needed it for. This book had helpful tips and things to look at that would be overlooked if you were doing it without reading about it first. Saved me a number of times from having to go back through and do it over again because I wouldn't have thought to do something it mentioned. I've been in the computer / internet industry for 15 years and this book still helped me. I would highly recommend it for anyone thinking of taking that step and wanting to sell things online. While there are different ways to do the things they talk about, it gives you plenty of insight into which ways could lead to problems.

Good information but shallow on some areas
This a book that is easily read. It touches on the most important aspects of an ecommerce operation and I did highlight 4 or 5 ideas to use. On several areas it only shares basic information. SEO is one good example: the book contais the bare basics, shares a few widely known facts and stops there.

I wish this book was available when I STARTED my site
I was stumbling in the dark when I launched my e-commerce site to sell products personalized with ambigrams at FlipScript.com. I did what I "thought" would work, and it did to some degree. However, after reading this book, I can clearly see so many things that could have been improved right from the beginning. The site can still be updated (and I'm planning to do just that), but it is always more work to go back and update things that aren't working as well as they should than to do it right from the beginning. The most valuable part for me were all of the tips on conversion rates. I can't wait to fix a lot of the user interface and customer usability issues that my site has, and then to crank up a few A/B tests to tweak the experience even further. While a cool new concept will keep an e-commerce site out of the 97% of failures, this book has the info. to turn a site into a home-run hit, and was obviously written by someone who has a good deal of experience in the subject matter.

A current and step in the right direction to e-commerce success.
In reading this book I reached my Kindle highlighting limit 3/4 of the way through. As noted early in the book, Ian Daniel is not a polished author and although the book may not be to major publishing house editorial standards the book delivers actionable advice. I would highly recommend this book to start ups and e-commerce entrepreneurs how are honing their businesses online.

The best book you will find!
I am a designer just getting into the realm of ecommerce, I know how to program websites and have been designing for about 7 years. I thought ecommerce would be simple so I decided to try it but after getting no sales in 4 months I realized I was doing something wrong. So I ended up buying a lot of books on the subject. This is by far the best of them. Not a lot of theory just practical steps and things that make sense. This book showed me that easy and familiar web pages get sales and that you must focus more on the selling process because that is what will increase your sales. I recommend this book to any one starting or having problems with there ecommerce website. [...]

I am in the process of setting up my first online store, (a totally new platform for me), and you know how it is, all of a sudden everyone is an expert!! The conflicting information I was receiving on things as simple as what E-Commerce software to use was driving me to distraction. I just wanted straight answers to simple questions, and after signing up for a report from Ian and liking what I read, I decided to invest in his book. The book is written in plain English, you do not need a PhD to understand or navigate your way through it and I really wish I could list here, everything I have learned in this fantastic reference guide, because in essence, thats what it is. It starts with basics, like how to view an E-Commerce store and 13 common E-Commerce mistakes, then goes on to cover topics like domain names, strategy, legal considerations, layout and colour choices, sales funnels, SEO, advice on copy, analytics, reports and measuring, pre-launch testing requisites, returns, and security and trust to name a few, the list is endless!! There are hot tips throughout and examples of websites that are doing things really well and are worth looking at. You're provided with the website links to everything he discusses where relevant, from monitoring competitor activity and product research to the more popular shopping directories and merchant account providers. This book covers EVERYTHING, right down to the mistakes he has made so that you can avoid them AND (get this) Ian even goes as far as giving you the option to contact him directly with any E-Commerce questions as his guarantee to you!!! If, like me, you are new to E-Commerce or are struggling to make your online business a success, this book really is what my title says, a lantern in the darkness!!!
