SheafferIon Red Gel Rollerball Pen

The Red Pen appears gimmicky and futuristic - feels awkward to use at first. After pulling out the strange cap you slide the pen apart. All the strangeness disappears when your grasp of the pen feels normal after all and the act of writing is smooth and inviting. The beauty feeling in handling and using it invites some anxiety though - how long will the ink last in this thing, does its look and construction spell durability or flimsiness. I conclude, this is not a toy despite its look and feel. This is a luxury practical quality writing tool worth the money and enjoying.

I ride a motorcycle, and this thick pen makes it easy to write down my milage at fuel stops while keeping my gloves on.

The Cross ION is an unknown, brilliant, EDC pen. Easily slipped in pocket, purse, key chain, etc. (and unfortunately also easily lost). Originally available in metal or plastic, they were discontinued because of lows sales (no one knew about them). Now marketed under the Shaffer brand, the original plastic body is back and reasonably priced.

3 1/2" mini-pocket pen w/closed oval ends that will not make holes in your pocket! EASY slide open to writing point, EASY close, I did not comprehend this from item description, but bought it in hopes that it might not be clumsily or annoyingly designed, as every reasonably priced pocket pen I have bought in the past has been. It is not a one hand out of your pocket and open to writing point, you take it out of your pocket with one hand and slide to open with the other hand, but is is so easy and smooth. Ink writes easily and clearly. Advertising description is confusing, when they are described as having purple or green or red ink, they intended to describe the color of the pen itself. I wanted a few of them, so I went ahead and bought them, hoping that the ink would be black, and it was. The only reason I took this chance was that there are no problems with easy returns with Amazon.
