Straight accurate cuts every time...
I've never been a pro cutting freehand with a circular saw. Maybe because I don't have enough practice? So I love this rail. It takes all the work out of cutting straight and less pinching. Just push it up against your board, align the cut and cut, that is it. Since it has the splitter guard, you know exactly where your blade is going to cut. So simple, yet so effective. Plus it retracts and it's always attached to the saw.Used this for a set of stairs I am building off my garage and it is just amazing. Making cutting fun and fast. Going to be even more useful when I do other angles. I also used this when replacing the 2X6's on the top of my railings, makes it so EASY and accurate to cut all the angles, so the boards match up. Plus you can set it at any angle, my railing corners were not all 45's, so this was very useful. Takes a bit to figure the right angle, nothing to do with the rail, it's my deck, but so nice to get tighter joints when they are not 90 degree.I agree, it' a little pricey, but if you can afford it, it's a great accessory. Gladly recommend!

Not as smooth as I expected but still great at what it does
I’ve used this product for about a month so far and I have to say, I’m very pleased with the accuracy of the special tracks, and I haven’t really noticed any wobbling off of a cut even when cutting extreme angles. It’s very easy to line of cuts without using a square at all and it makes precise work as simple as ever

A MUST HAVE TOOL
Hands down the FSK guide rail is the biggest time saver. So easy to use and dead on cuts, whether at 90 degrees or 60 degrees. Definitely a tool to have in conjunction with Festool HK55 saw. You will not be disappointed.

Awkward
I went with the shortest rail since most of the cuts I will be making with my hk55 are on narrow lumber but it just feels awkward to use. I had tested out the same saw with the 420 rail prior to purchase with similar sized boards and it felt much more comfortable and balanced. Every cut I’ve made has been completely accurate, I just feel like I struggle a bit with it and I don’t get that satisfaction I am used to from the ease of use of festool products

Missing parts
Arrived missing the scale and angle stop. Was told by Festool that separate scale is not available in the US - now must reorder and hope new item arrives complete

For rough work only
I bought this together with the HKC 55 cordless saw. There weren't that many reviews out there but it looked like a convenient setup and and I'm a big Festool guy plus they were having the $100 promotion so I pulled the trigger. Right off the bat I have to say it's a cool system. It seems to be well (but unfortunately not precisely - see below) made like most Festool items but here's the problem I've run into. The stop is inaccurate - not by much but still, inaccurate. I noticed it right away when holding it against my workbench and then confirmed with a square. It's about 1/8" off across the full 250mm cutting length of the rail. That seems unusual for a Festool so I called Festool support. The first words out of the tech's mouth after I explained my concern was "it's for rough work only". I told him I had put a square across it and it was off by about 1/8" and he instructed me to make an actual cut - alas, the laws of physics didn't automagically square the cut - so the cut isn't perfectly square either. This could have been another great tool but it's a good idea sloppily manufactured (it doesn't cost a cent more to have the stops align). Anyway, it's probably accurate enough for general carpentry field work for which it was designed.

Splitter Strip
Guide is great, but clear splinter strip comes loose almost instantly, they seem to have a problem with there new clear strips.
