Built like a brick outhouse!
This hitch is advertized as a "Reese Towpower" hitch but there is no decals or paperwork or indications on the box that it is indeed a Reese hitch. Looks like a copy of a Reese 51193 hitch and it does have a 51193 sticker on it. The hitch is made in Mexico and is distributed in the USA by Cequent Performance Products. The hitch is extremely well built though. Maybe overkill for a class III hitch. This baby is going nowhere...Some of the long bolts provided are metric 12 mm x 65-70 mm long with 1.75 thread pitch. Those beefy bolts fit in the existing threaded holes in the car frame. The biggest issue I had was cleaning out the existing frame threaded holes in my 11-year old Saturn Vue. They were rusted and required a round steel brush and plenty of Releasall. Metric bolts fit tighter than SAE bolts and therefore, require more care in making sure the thread are clean. I had to tighten and backoff the bolts a number of times and use compressed air a number of times before I could get the bolts all the way through the frame. Also, the passenger side holes are easily accessible but the driver's side holes were not because of the tail pipe getting in the way. Removing the plastic bumper cover on the Saturn Vue took a few minutes and made access and installation of the hitch a lot easier.Fishing the carriage bolts with backup plates was easier than I thought throughout but the fishing wires were too short to fish the bolts and plates through the steel bumper. I had to twist on an extension on the fishing wires. Holes in frame and hitch line up very well though.Once the bolts and nuts were torqued to spec (92 ft-lbs for the frame metric bolts and 75 ft-lbs for the nuts/carriage bolts), this baby is going nowhere...very solid.Put the plastic bumper cover back on, and you are good to go. Total prep and installation took me 3 hours though, with help from my son...PS: I'm not in Bruxelles Belgique, I'm in North Carolina!

Nice hitch mount for my 2015 Equinox
I just got finished installing this on my 2015 Equinox. The hitch itself is very sturdy looking/feeling, and so far I'm very happy with it. It has a nice finish. As for installing it on the Equinox specifically, the instructions that came with the hitch are incorrect for the Equinox. I followed the instructions on you tube that were posted by e trailer. The proper mounting hardware was still included, as well as some extras for different applications. The hitch does NOT come with the necessary "pull wire" for fishing the carriage bolts and small block through the frame, so I used fish tape and taped them to the side of the fish tape. However, the hole that it's supposed to go in won't fit the fish tape with the bolt, so I fished it into the larger square hole and very carefully moved it over.It was very difficult to get the nuts onto the carriage bolts as well. I used tape to keep them from pushing up, and I taped the washers on.I also decided to just put the hitch on in my driveway, even though my friend with a hoist offered to help me. I was determined to just get it done. It was very heavy and awkward for my husband to hold up while lying on the ground with his face inches from the muffler, while I'm trying to line up holes on the sides. My forearms are a little rashed up from the plastic bumper pieces making it very difficult to reach in to tighten the side bolts. After some struggle, it's in and I'm thrilled. It fits my bike rack nicely

It's a Hitch
I purchased this to put on my 2015 Equinox. While I got it on, it isn't perfect, and took a long time. It lines up perfectly with everything except the top side bolts, which were extremely difficult to get on due to misalignment. I don't know if it's a GM problem or a Reese problem. I have previously installed the Curt hitch on a 2010 Equinox without any issue. If anyone has a recommendation on how to get the top side bolts on I would love to hear it as I was only able to get one side on, and the one bolt took 30 minutes (with a hand ratchet). While I am currently only using it for a bike rack, I would like the flexibility of pulling a trailer which I don't feel confident about without all the bolts attached.Like others have mentioned, the fishing wire is too short if you follow the instructions and try to feed the hardware through the side of the frame. If you can force the plates up through the bottom of the frame next to where they should go, the wires will work, but it's an extremely tight fit.In the end, GM seemed to remove the nuts inside the frame on the 2015, where the 2010 had this which meant you don't need to fish the bolts through as the bolts would screw directly into the frame. As someone has mentioned, the large plate does not ever lock into place when screwing the nut onto the bolt, but turns inside the frame. If you are able to pull down on the nut, which puts downward pressure on the plate, while screwing on the nut, the plate won't turn. But once again, this takes some work. A couple of differences to note between the Reese hitch and the Curt hitch:- The Reese hitch has an extra plate which attaches to the bottom of the frame giving it 8 attachment points to the vehicle instead of Curt's 6.- The side attachments on the Curt hitch are cut as ovals, which means there is a better chance of it fitting a vehicle or hitch out of spec. The Reese seems to be cut exact. In the end, I should have purchased the Curt for $30 more and saved myself a lot of time and aggravation during installation. But once it's on, it's on and I hope to not have to worry about it again!

Hitch reciever
So far the hitch receiver works perfectly but it was a hassle to install it. Make sure to see if the bolt holes on the truck are not rusted or threaded before installing.
