Bed Head Textrovert Texturizing Wand for Lived-in-Texture, 1-3/4"

My Mom was a hairstylist for over 30 years and owned a curling iron similar to this wand. The barrel was smaller, but it worked really well on my short hair. Fast forward many decades later, and I tried this Bed Head tool on my very long, but layered hair. My shorter layers looked textured, while my longer layers just looked silly and kinked. I think if you have short, layered hair, this will achieve that messy texture, but it's not worth using on longer hair.

I was suspicious when I received this and it looked as if the box had been taped back together. When I opened it, the glove was shoved in the bottom compartment and the switch was in the “on” position. It was then that I confirmed that this was, if fact, a very WELL-USED iron. This is my third bad experience with Amazon and hair appliances. They do many things well, but I think I’m all set with this.

I was a little scared about getting the Harry Potter lightening bolt hair like other people said but I think it makes cute, perfect, lived in scrunched hair! I didn't use anything on my fine straight hair except some texture spray and the wand. I love the look!

I don't know why there are so many negative reviews of this product. Do you even know what you're buying!?Yes, if you wrap your hair tightly around this like you would a traditional curling wand, you're going to get lightning bolts and or possible kink like effects. This device is not meant for you to wrap tightly around. It's meant for you to have a loose wrap and create a kind of shaggy or textured look. I don't really know who is the demographic for this. It's a concept.If anything though, using this hair tool incorrectly is the way to go. Put some lightning bolts in your hair! It's an incredibly cheap hair tool. You would spend more going out to eat or the bar with friends. Invite them over to play with this hair tool instead! Even if it looks ridiculous, well that's the point! Just wash your hair and go!The quality of the iron is actually quite good and considering it's a brand nam, I would have thought it would cost more. If we're talking about it as a traditional everyday hairstyling tool, I might give it a three or two stars but when you think about the novelty of it being an experience that's why I'm giving it 4.

So overall, I truly am satisfied with the outcome of how my hair is styled. The texture is different, but if you like different, this tool is for you!!!Now… my main issue is the packaging this came in. It looked like it’d been opened before. I’m sure it has, but it was never used since the blister was still intact. It just looks like I got the oldest one of the bunch.When I took the tool out of the packaging, the neck between the handle and shaft has some markings on it. The took itself isn’t grimy, but I think because this specific tool sat so long, it started wearing and aging.The overall design could be updated. Honestly I’m happy with the results. But the tool itself doesn’t feel “substantial”. The On/Off switch feels cheaper compared to other Bed Head Tools. And the temperature dial feels too loose.I think if Bed Head revamped this tool, I would totally rebuy it. I’m happy with my lightning hair!!! 😅😅😅

It doesn’t work great for my thick hair but I think if you have medium to thin hair it would be great.

Might be good for Halloween or thin hair 80s party but I'm pretty sure there are better options. All I managed to do fumbling around with it was to burn my face and aquire one more useless tool in my bathroom drawer.

Don’t just don’t .. Bed head has cool stuff that works but this is not one of those ..I’m a hairdresser for 25 years ..
