Powerful and lightweight.
This is my second bissell of this model and type. I bought it to clean the apt for an elderly couple and I have one of my own. The best features are the power and how quiet it is. And then the cleaning of it is so easy thorough and bagless. Its the best out there. You can literally see the amount of dust it picks up right on the first try. If you have another working vacuum use it first then run this one thru the same area. You will be pleasantly surprised on how much more dirt this one picks up. I tell everyone about it itโs that good! Priced just right and itโs very lightweight. Love it.

Like it, but!
The suction on this vacuum is very good, it is quiet and powerful. It picked up more dirt than the Hoover we had. The only problem is the brush motor seems to be weak. The brush will slow down or stop at nothing but the highest level. We don't have long carpet and even on the middle setting on berber carpet the motor struggles to keep the brush turning. We have had this vacuum since August 9, 2017 and we don't remember it doing this at first. Don't know if we have a weak motor but we would like to see if anyone else is having the same problem.Follow up review. We noticed that the height adjustment didn't seem to be doing anything. It wasn't!! I took the bottom off and discovered that the adjustment know wasn't even touching the tab on the bracket for the wheels that adjust the height. Two tabs on the bracket are stopping the bracket from even getting to the adjustment knob's graduated notches. What a joke!! You can turn the knob until you're blue in the face and nothing will happen. So, either something is missing or Bissell needs to take a look at the engineering department. Off to find a real vacuum. It sucks well but with the weak brush motor and no height adjustment this vacuum really does SUCK!! , DON 'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!

Would recommend
Was skeptical even though Mom has one as she has carpet and I have none. Also have a dog that sheds a lot! Thrilled. Goodbye various brooms.

Hard to beat for the price
I purchased this vacuum at Walmart, but wanted to share my review here as well. This vacuum replaced an older model Dyson, and after having that I was hoping I would not be disappointed buying a less expensive unit. And for the most part, I'm very satisfied so far. This has an 8A motor, which worried me upon purchase because I think the Dyson is 10A (maybe 12A?) and more power is always more better. That said, this vacuum packs quite a punch. I ran it on a rug that had been recently vacuumed with the Dyson and it picked up half a canister of dust and hair from the deep-pile rug. I was totally surprised. As far as suction goes, you'll have plenty from this one. My only concern is that this performance won't last very long. I'll make sure to update this review if things go south fast, although I've had cheaper vacuums before and found that regular cleaning usually does the trick.I paid less than $60 for the vacuum and you can tell to hit that price point some materials had to be spared. The body of the vacuum appears to be some kind of ABS plastic; there are no reinforced plastics on this unit. The snap action for the tilt mechanism is pretty soft, likewise the cord hanger isn't very strong. The tilt and on/off footswitches feel sturdy, and the adjustable height switch isn't bad either. For the price, you shouldn't expect to get heavy reinforced plastics and a meatier mold like the Dyson. I think that vacuum weighs like 4+lb more than the Bissell PowerForce, and contains metal parts and a much more rigid frame.Probably the most disappointing feature is the upholstery/pet brush. It uses the suction from the vacuum to spin the bristles on the attachment. I've had these before and they never have enough power to really be useful. Nothing shocking, just hoped for the best. After having a cheaper vacuum, then a Dyson, and now this, I don't know if I could justify a high-end vacuum again. I particularly hated the fact that you have to remove the cord entirely to remove the giant wand and extend it just to use the corner or upholstery tool. It's refreshing to have a hose to disconnect and get to work. Conclusion: Top-notch performance, some lighter-weight/cheaper materials, but for the price can't really argue.
