I picked up a working Yamaha RX-V673 at my local Salvation Army Family Store. Little did I know you really need the remote and a TV to tweak it. It doesn't look like the OEM remote, but it seems to do everything. I also discovered that I could install the Yamaha AV Controller app which allows performing the typical functions such as power on/off, volume control, input source...

Works out of the box - no setup needed
The original Yamaha remote for my receiver stopped working. This remote worked right out of the box. Just pop in batteries and it handles all of the functions of the original remote without any additional set up.

Works perfectly right out of the box
Simply put, the original remote was dying. I opened it, cleaned the contact points, etc. Nothing worked. So I bought this one. It's literally like the original remote was when it was brand new. Absolutely what I needed.
