Light was great while it lasted, should at least make it a year before failing.

I had to fully drain the pool to clean it this year, so I took the opportunity to swap out the 500W incandescent bulb for this multi-color LED unit. First of all, it does use noticeably less power, and yet is considerably brighter. By the time I noticed that the remote was not able to reliably change the color or cycle the color-change pattern, the pool was already full, so I didn't bother exchanging it. You can switch between colors and patterns by flicking the power switch on and off quickly, so I can change it that way. And in the end, I just leave it on the deep blue setting anyway.

No need for a transformer. This light will simply replace old school light. Remote didn’t work. But i saw reviews saying the same so i expected it not to work. Can still still change color with light switch which is annoying but better than nothing i guess.

The light works fine but the remote control does not work at all. Not sure why. The remote control has a good battery. The red led comes on when I press the buttons. But does nothing to the light, the antenna is fully extended and I am standing over the light in the pool. I can control the colors of the light only by turning the power switch on and off. I like the light. I wish the remote control woul work.

I hate to leave bad reviews, but this was a big let down. The light never worked with the remote, but that's understandable because is under water, encased in concrete, and sealed in a metal housing. The alternative was a pain. Switching through the various light modes by switching on and off was not straight forward. Finally, landed on blue and it was beautiful. The color filled the pool and added a awesome aesthetic to the backyard. It made all the trouble getting to that setting worth it. It lasted one night. I think stars are when it worked, it was great. I pulled the bulb out and tested it on another socket and its a dud!!! Opened it up and the board was fried (see pics)

BATTERY NOT INCLUDED. I just got this and installed it yesterday. Tge light is bettet than the $60 LED that has lasted me 4 or 5 years. I ran to 3 different stores to find a battery for $7. The A23 is the one you need. Good luck on that. The range for the remote is about 5 -10 feet. It is easier to just use the light switch almost. Find the setting that you like most and just flip the switch. The remote would have been a useful feature, but I will basically have to live without it like I was before. Flip that switch.

Replaced a 30+ year old incandescent bulb (still working!!, but wanted color). Found great instructions on youtube, replacing the gasket also. Redoing the clamp was the only difficult part. Bulb works well. The remote works fairly well, considering the other reviews that had issues. My only gripe is the red color is not bright enough. Only lights up about half of an approx 18x36 pool. All other colors are plenty bright enough for the whole pool.

Had light professionally installed...remote never worked well and light has stopped working after 3.5 weeks! Don't waste your time or money!Update: company sent me a new light at their expense to replace the bad one. I have not been able to get it installed yet but hope this one will fix the issues. They were very nice and eager to fix the problem!
