WORTH. EVERY. PENNY.
My son is 9.5. We've tried other alarms before with no success since my son HATED them. They were bulky, difficult to use, scared the life out of him with the alarm just inches from his ear, and had user error written all over it. He refused to try an alarm again for over a year so we were back to doing laundry every morning. Until I showed him this one. He warmed up to the idea and so we started once school was out for the summer. And let me tell you... this. thing. WORKS. We're not completely dry... but in almost 3 weeks, we've had to wash bedding only TWICE. This is from a kid who was wet every single night, sometimes more than once per night. There are still some nights that the alarm goes off, but he is able to make it to the bathroom fast enough so no bedding gets soiled. Other nights he tells me he just got up and went to the bathroom whenever he found himself awake, and just today he told me he thinks he woke up before he started to wet. Hallelujah. I agree with both reviewers here and the manufacturer recommendations: your child needs to be sleeping on the floor in your room (or you in theirs) for the first ~2 weeks. The first night the alarm went off, my son didn't even budge. The second night he woke up, but was so groggy and out of it that he still wet horribly since he had trouble stopping the flow of urine. By the 7th or 8th night, he was completely waking himself when the alarm went off. I can't imagine it working nearly as fast if I had to run down the hall to wake him. The clip mechanism is very easy for my son to use with a little bit of practice, even in the middle of the night. Once on, it will not come off unless you manually release the clip. The clip on the transmitter that attaches to the underwear band isn't as strong, but we found it stuck better when attached to his shorts. My son said he doesn't find it uncomfortable, or at least it's WAY better than the system that attaches via a long wire to an alarm on his shirt or arm band. The alarms themselves are good. There are 6 of them that vary between tolerable to horrible… the way a good alarm should be to wake a child. There are 3 volume levels (I think), though there wasn’t much variation between the levels. The alarms aren’t deafeningly loud but truthfully, I think my initially being there as soon as the alarm went off was much more valuable in teaching him to wake up than the volume of the alarm itself. To turn off the alarm, you just hit a button on the side of the receiver. (There’s a small blinking red light that helps you find it in the dark.) The alarm does not continue to go off unless it senses wetness after a minute. This gives your child a little time to get to the bathroom, finish voiding in the toilet, and THEN take off the alarm to change underwear. This was a HUGE downfall to another alarm we used… it would keep going off until the sensor was removed from the underwear which wasted valuable time when the child is supposed to go to the toilet ASAP. We’re still not 100% perfect, but never in my wildest dreams did I think we’d be this far in less than 3 weeks after 9.5 years of nightly wetting. My son is really proud of himself and even admits that using the alarm is far less work than changing bedding every night and doing laundry every day. We may need to use it longer than the summer we initially agreed upon to get fully dry every night, but this thing makes it so painless that I don’t think he’ll mind wearing it longer if needed. I’m SO happy I tried this product! UPDATE: It has been 6.5 weeks since I wrote the above review and the alarm has gone off only once since then. Every other night my son has woken up before it has gone off. To say that this alarm has been a success is an understatement. School starts next week and we will officially retire this alarm and can say that we are now 100% dry. I couldn't be happier with this alarm and would highly recommend it, especially for the older child where nothing else has worked.

Great Product
This is our second try with a bed wetting alarm. The first time my son was 7 & 9 months. Now he’s 10 & 2 months. We bought the expensive alarm where your child has to wet through their clothes to the bed wetting pad. Several reasons I would highly recommend this as a better solution: 1)Less mess- The alarm clips to their underwear. As other parents have said, you can easily slip a pull-up over their underwear to help with any accidents. 2)Less expensive- At under $60 this alarm is worth a try. If it doesn’t work right away, you can tuck it away and try again in 6 months to a year. It’s not a huge investment for an effective product. 3)Durable & Easy to use- This alarm is very compact and pretty much indestructible. The clip is small and the attached battery pack can tuck into their pjs. It’s not heavy or cumbersome. It takes very little time to unclip and change their clothes if they have an accident, which is ideal for the middle of the night. For parents that are struggling with bed wetting, this isn’t a dream solution, but it worked for us surprisingly well once my son’s body was ready to cooperate. Here’s a little of our story in hopes it may encourage another mom or dad. My son was potty trained during the day when he was 3, but continued wearing pull-ups at night. He never had a dry night. When he was almost 8, we decided to try a bed wetting alarm. We had heard success from others. We tried diligently for 10 weeks with very little improvement. My son would urinate 2-3 times every night and the alarm helped us have many 1 alarm nights and maybe 4-5 dry nights during those 10 weeks. It was exhausting for all of us. My son ended up pulling out the wires and destroying the $300 device after trying for 10 weeks. We had his annual physical shortly after trying the alarm and decided to put my son on medicine. He was getting yeast infections with the pull-ups and still wetting through to the bed. For over 2 years, we used the medicine and it worked great. No accidents. Unless we would forget to give him his pills. I was skeptical trying an alarm again, thinking it would take a lot of time and may not be successful. I’ve been shocked at the results. My son and I slept in our guest bedroom with him on a blowup mattress. In 10 days, my son has had one accident. One benefit of sleeping in the same room with your child is you better understand their sleep pattern. My son goes to the bathroom before bed, but he needs to urinate again 2-3 hours after going to bed. His one accident was 1.5 hours after going to sleep. At first, he was getting up 2 additional times, but now it’s down to one. So he’s waking himself around 11pm and 4am every night. Like I said, I’m pretty shocked at how well this is working for us. We’ve moved back into our own rooms tonight and I’m going to keep using the alarm for another 2 weeks just to be on the safe side. I really think this is a great solution if your child’s body is ready. Good luck!

This is working for our family.
I purchased this alarm after trying a similar version, that was cheaper and broke in less than 10 days. We’ve had this product for about 4 months and my son is having no accidents when using the alarm. It hasn’t completely cured the problem because he occasionally will have an accident if he doesn’t use the alarm but we aren’t having any accidents if he uses the alarm. He is 8 so he is able to wake with the alarm, go to the bathroom, change his underwear, and go back to bed without assistance. I’m not having to wake up all the time to wash the bed and sheets every night which has been amazing. We really like that the sensor and alarm are separate pieces and that the piece that wakes you up is not an arm band. My son didn’t like having the armband on while he slept with the other version we tried. With this he puts it in his pillow case under his pillow and it doesn’t bother him while he sleeps. We also tried having it across the room so he had to get up to turn it off but for us under the pillow has worked fine. I recommend this product and would buy again. Just know that it isn’t a magic cure that will fix you your problem within a week. It will take time but this has been great for our family.

Excellent investment
TLDR: Bottom line is that it works and I wish I would have done it earlier. My son is almost 5 and completely day toilet trained and has been for a year or more. But at night he would soak... like not just pee occasionally, but he couldn't do pull ups, even night ones... because he would pee too much for the pull up. We had never had a single dry night. At some point he started to wet during his nap at school, so we started to put him back in pull ups even during the day... and then he started wetting in that more regularly. I had heard over and over again that kids would just naturally night train and the "kids can't control that... so you have to wait it out" philosophy. My other kids naturally stopped wetting at night when they day trained... And then I started doing more digging - holding and consolidating is a skill that kids learn during the day and they can also learn it during the night, but if they go too late without "making" them, they develop the opposite habit of soaking at night and it becomes much harder to train. If they are still peeing every hour during the day, probably not a good time to try this, but if they can hold and consolidate during the day it is best to train before they have built up the bad habit of wetting when they have a diaper on. Honestly, with this child, it was the same during the day- if he had underwear on (or no underwear a la the Oh Crap training method), he was fine, but when my MIL who didn't trust him not to have an accident would put a pull up on, he was go in it. For night training this was the perfect solution because it would wake them immediately once they have peed so that they know that they have done it. My son is a heavy sleeper so we had to go wake him, but we would catch it pretty fast. For the first week, every night was at least 5 alarms, by week 2, we were down to 2 wake ups, by week 3 we could wake him up once to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and he could make it to morning. This week, we have already had 2 dry nights with no wake ups and no alarms! (And he has stopped wetting at school, too!). No more embarrassment at school, my laundry pile - though still deep and wide - smells a lot better, and he was just so proud of himself to have the sunshine sticker the last couple of days. Connecting the sensor is a bit of a pain, but it stays on and of that I am glad because otherwise he probably would have taken it off. I am sharing my review since my son seems to be a bit younger than a lot of the other reviewers and that made me think that perhaps I had to just wait it out, but I am glad I didn't. I will be delighted not to need it anymore very soon!

Worked well for 2 years…
I was tired of washing peed clothes and bedsheets, so I decided to do a research on how to help my son. I read tons of articles and reviews before settling for the DryEasy bed wetting alarm. I chose it because it’s wireless, you can choose between using it with sound, vibration and a combination of both, it’s loud enough to wake my kid up, had good reviews here on Amazon, and the price, even though it’s kinda high, was reasonable enough. Well, we used it for a month to train my son, and it worked pretty well. After 4 weeks, my son was able to either wake up to go potty or wait until morning to pee. After that, my son woke up dry most mornings, but we still had to use this alarm occasionally. Fast forward two years later, my son started having trouble waking up dry (probably because he drinks water at night to help relieve a stubborn cough he’s been having since winter started), so I decided to start using the bed wetting alarm again a week ago. I thought soon the pee problem would be solved soon enough, but after days seeing that my son kept wetting his bed even though he’s been using his alarm made me suspicious. Today, I decided to try and see if the alarm was in fact working, and I received a surprise when I saw the alarm not reacting to wetness. I can put the sensor under running water and the thing doesn’t even give a peep. I reset the alarm, changed the batteries, and changed the channel, but nothing worked. The red light turns on for a second on the sensor and the receiver right when I put the batteries in, but then the light goes off on both and, after that, there’s no reaction to wetness. I did a research looking for a solution, but so far I haven’t found anything. I’m thinking about buying another one, because it was nice and useful while it worked, but I’m afraid I’m going to waste money on something that works for a while, but not long term. And the most expensive alarms don’t seem better, according to the reviews. I wish this alarm would have lasted longer for the price…

Should’ve been great but ended up being a massive failure
Received this product and was very excited to use it on my 6 year old as the description had all the right elements for this to be the success boosting tool for her nighttime wetness. Unfortunately it’s a failure. Pros: as described which was what I fell in love with - it can be completely wireless (2AA batteries in the receiver) or wired utilizing usb and your own supplied wall brick. It clipped perfectly on her undies and was not uncomfortable for her at all. I was worried the transmitter wouldn’t stay put on her waist with the built in clip but was very wrong. 5 nights of use and it never fell off, despite her moving and rolling every which way. Appreciated how you could use audio (several tones to choose from using toggle switches), vibration or BOTH (huge bonus). We tested it out as indicated in the instructions and it put her mind at ease once we saw how quickly it reacted and that we could find a tone that would wake her but not scare her. With all these pros it may seem hard to come up with enough cons for a 1-star rating but here it is… Con: the product fails and is now a dud 5 nights of use. First night I was wondering why she woke and said it was flashing on the transmitter and receiver but we never woke. I reviewed our overnight nanny cam and there was zero audio or vibration. I reset using the button and shrugged it off. I turned the receiver off during the following day and back on at night and performed another test before bedtime. Again, it worked. This 2nd night the alarm and vibration went off and continued so that we could wake - which we actually did surprisingly quickly. I was still thinking I must have done something wrong the night before. It helped her to have her first SLIGHT damp night ever. The 3rd night it went off before midnight, we did a quick change of undergarments, reset everything and went back to sleep. She had a second episode and we again woke seeing lights flashing as if it had gone off but never did. She was back to wet. The last 2 nights it just fails to go off. When I reset it and test it with a wet finger I get the attached video result. It dings an vibrated for a few short seconds, clicks and then stops completely. I am definitely bummed. It had all the right bells and whistles and I was comfortable with the slightly higher cost because of it but apparently I threw my money out the window as it actually just gave us a very false sense of confidence since it appeared to work but not at all consistently and then finally has just given out. I’ve tried plug in, batteries (we bought new), changing batteries, but I can’t get this product to be reliable which is the most important part of this overnight training. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this to anyone and am sad about that since it really appeared it was going to be our miracle. The bonus is the included sticker chart was the perfect simple motivation and she loved using that!

You need to put in a huge effort, but if you do, it will eventually stop the bedd
I read a lot from other users about this before I bought it. It seems like for some it was a couple of weeks and for others it took months. But I liked the detail that other users gave and that allowed me to have realistic expectations. With our 8 year old boy it has been 8 months so far. He started with 2-3 accidents every night. We saw improvements in the first few weeks and over the months he improved to no accidents at all. But unfortunately it isn't perfect, so he has some relapses every so often. But it is so much better sleep for the whole family now. Our frustration is down to a minimum. I would certainly consider this a good product. It hasn't failed or broke. But don't expect miracles. You will still need to put a big effort and be patient.

If your kid is motivated & you’re ready to put in the effort, get it
[**UPDATE: 3.5 weeks after we started, he started to stay consistently dry every night and he has now been dry for a full week and a half. He isn’t even waking up in the night to pee anymore, just holding it all night and no more pull ups! Totally recommend this.] My 7 year old son (who was soaking a pull up every night and sleeping through the night) wanted to give this a try so I checked with his doctor, and she said these alarms have decent success rates for kids who are highly motivated to stop bedwetting. She said she typically recommends these for kids 8 and older, but if he was on board then there’s no reason we couldn’t. The recommendation is for a parent to spend the first 2 weeks in the room to help the kid respond to the alarm and get to the bathroom/ clean up/ place the clip back on. You can see the progression of progress in the screenshots- he got more responsive over the first few days and by night 3 I could tell he was waking up when he would normally be due for an alarm so I helped him to the bathroom. This is where being in the same room is extra important, to show them they don’t need to wait for the buzzer to get up, and that their brain is starting to wake them up when their bladder is full. He had his first dry night 5 days in, and on night 13 he had his first dry night without me in the room! I have seen steady progress and I see him gaining confidence and excitement about his accomplishments. Parent participation and guidance is key! Tips: -Wear underwear and clip the sensor on layer closest to the body so the alarm will go off as soon as they start peeing and give them a chance to stop quickly, instead of having to soak through more layers before a response. Clipping the bigger blue part to the front of the shirt is what my son prefers. -Wear a pull up over the underwear for easy cleanup. -Once sleeping in separate rooms, use a monitor and sit the alarm next to it on your kid’s nightstand so you can hear the alarm and respond to help quickly. -The vibration setting while sitting on the nightstand is plenty loud enough to do the job without being too scary, in my opinion.
