YLI 2020M-S38 Silk Sparkle Metallic Silk Thread, 100 yd, Dark Silver

I ordered this wanting Silk thread. First order got what you see in the photo, 100% Cotton thread and the color doesnt even come close to matching what is listed on the site.ordered a replacement, thinking it was a mistake. Nope, I was sent the same exact thing as you see in the photo.Website description is a lie and deceptive.

silk thread for the first aid kit. used twice so far. the color kinda clashes with an open wound, but it mostly works, nobody turned into a zombie. Nothing sewn back on fell off.

YLI Silk #100 thread is one of the best threads for doing haute couture sewing. It's perfect for hand basting seams together and then directly sewing over the baste stitch. Because this thread is silk and has a low twist, it is smooth and easy to hand sew with, and when sewn over with a machine it is very easy to take out with a seam ripper. It also comes in a variety of colors so that you can choose a contrasting one for visibility. Overall a wonderful thread, and am very glad that it is sold on Amazon.

A sewer with more experience than I have, advised that silk makes the best thread for basting. Even if you machine stitch directly over it, the silk easily slides out when the stitches are removed. Thus, it can be used to identify exactly where one wants to place machine stitches, without worrying about either disturbing the machine stitches, or leaving bits of thread behind, when removing the basting. This thread truly has enabled me to sew more precisely.

I really like the silkyness of this thread but I still had just as many knots as the cotton thread I used in the past for my English paper piecing projects. I will probably continue to use it but likely won’t buy it again

When you are looking for thread that is strong but won't be seen, use this. I have used this thread in many colors to make historic costumes, and I get so many compliments about not being able to see my stitching yet the stitching still being rather strong.

Super fine thread purchased for hand-casting seam edges. As fine as it is, it can be difficult to see without excellent lighting, and difficult to handle, but that is a factor of the fineness, and not a reflection of the quality of the product.

My wife likes this for quilting. The order came late, but the thread was fine. The picture does not look like white thread, but the thread was white, as it was supposed to be. The color coding of YLI thread is byzantine, so order with care.
