Salewa Men's Ultra Train GTX Mountain Training Shoe

I read a review or two that claimed these were not in fact all that grippy. I ignored them. I should not have ignored them. This morning I ran Mount Mitchell and was pretty disappointed by how slippery these were on wet rock. I went down once, but had to catch myself several more times.I find these comfortable enough, not overwhelmingly so. The lacing system works well, the waterproofing is great, and I felt like my feet were reasonably protected.

My girlfriend is an avid trailrunner and I try to keep up. Got these cause my inov8s blew out on me. These were really stiff at first but have broken in nicely. The soles are not meant for slick rock and do well on a loamy rooted trail. Pleased!

It just doesn't fit my feet well. It's too low cut for my feet. I tried it as a trail running shoe and when that didn't work I used it for some light hiking. Had the same issue both times. Last thing I did was to change to regular laces. Again I had the same issue.Besides to that they grip well and are waterproof. I'm selling these or may give them to a friend.

Noticed outer sole coming unglued on first day wearing on trails, but nothing a lil super glue couldn't solve. Still disappointed to spend that much money on shoes only to see them coming apart the 1st. Have worn twice since the glue experiment and they are holding up.

I travel a lot and the terrain is somewhat suspect. These will be a welcome addition to my clothing. Tough soles, aggressive build and I look forward to stressing them as I hike the mountains.

This just is not a comfortable shoe. The heel feels like you're standing in a divot and the arches are intrusive and stiff. I'm not sure why they've taken an otherwise good shoe (tread, gore-tex, speed laces) and given it such an unnatural shape. Returned it.

Confortable, good traction, very light, perfect for everyday use (urban or outdoor), and a must for day hiking. Fit as expected.

Schade, schade. Was für ein toller Schuh. Gerade für schmalere Füße ideal, sehr bequem und tolles Laufgefühl. Ich habe diesen Schuh für schnelle Wanderungen auf Waldboden verwendet. Der Schuh wäre so gut, nur die Sohle ist eine Katastrophe. Die hat sich an der Ferse schon beim zweiten Trail gelöst. Beinahe wäre ich deshalb auch einen kleinen felsigen Anhang runtergefallen. Der Schuh geht zurück, möchte auch gar keinen Ersatz, habe das Vertrauen verloren. Dabei ist Salewa ansonsten meine Marke für den Berg.

Ich habe mir die Schuhe für Wanderungen auf unterschiedlichsten Untergründen gekauft und bin sehr zufrieden mit den Schuhen!Egal welcher Untergrund, die Schuhe geben mir immer einen sicheren Halt.Sie sind - nach einer kurzen Zeit des Eintragens - sehr bequem. Ich hatte sie 2 Nummer größer als meine "normalen Schuhe" gekauft und sie passenden von Anfang an sehr gut.Einzig der "neumodische" Schnürmechanismus ist nicht so mein Ding. Bei den Wanderungen muss ich die Schnürung der Schuhe oft ein oder zweimal nachziehen.

Ich benutze ihn hauptsächlich für lange Wandertouren, da er im Vergleich zu Wanderstiefeln/Schuhen, deutlich leichter ist und weich federt. Das überqueren von felsigen/steinigen Passagen geht im Notfall, ist aber logischerweise nicht seine Kür. Seine Stärken sind ganz klar auf nassem, weichen Untergrund, spätestens dann versteht man die Bezeichnung "Ultra" denn der Grip (speziell beim Bergablaufen) ist ultra! Man hat viel mehr Sicherheit vorm Rutschen, als bei einer übliche Wandersohle. Der Schuh macht auch im Regen eine gute Figur und der Fuß bleibt trocken. Die Schnürsenkel halten und auch der Verschluss hält und lockert sich nicht beim Laufen. Perfekt auch für den Zustieg.
