I put half of a 10 ml bottle in a diffuser and could barely smell anything, how much should I be using?

Less than that. I had same issue Opened box of 5 i think and lovely strong aroma. Made up a room freshener but had to keep putting more and more oil in. Started with bergamot then mandarin. Didn't last long. Then more recent did a citric mix with water. Used 5ml each of lemon and mandarin. Still not strong. In contrast used 5ml of pepperermint different product. Was strong
