Fun kit. Big reward for little money!!
ASE Certified Master Technician with 30 years experience. This was a fun kit to make. Not too much soldering though. Easy soldering with nothing too small or difficult. Sounds good for what it is. Connects well every time. Instructions were incorrect on one step. The step to connect the light control to the power supply. I was able to connect it to the switched 5V power and ground circuit at the switch and it works perfect. The screws holding all the panels together were a challenge for my FAT FINGERS but I like a good challenge. My switch was too large and too stiff and cracked the panel when I tried to install. I would heat it up a little to make it pliable or trim the tabs off next time. I liked this so much I ordered another one for my wife. Hers was missing a couple screws and they quickly replaced the missing parts with another kit. I was also able to replace my broken panel out of the replacement kit. This is a great beginner kit. This was her third kit to make and she loved it as well.

You get what you pay for.
It's a pretty simple kit. I bought it because of its looks. There are multiple versions of this kit, and you get the version you get randomly. The included folded single sheet instructions are not complete. There is a QR code to the fully updated instructions that works for all versions of this kit.The sound is meh at best, mainly because of the acrylic case. The speakers are not bad for their size and power rating. But the acrylic case is just a bad enclosure for them. The case is also a pita to assemble. It would take a wall of text for me to explain the best methods to get it together, so I'll just let you the buyer figure it out, lol. You can solder the electronics up in 10-15 minutes. You'll spend the next hour or two getting the case together. My biggest criticism is with the LED's. They are rgb so they can be any color. For some reason, the tend to heavily biased to red. Yes, they will change colors, 95% of the time, they are gonna be so hue of red.All in all, it's cheap, sounds OK at best, and doesn't really look as great as I'd hoped it would since the LED's like red so much. But it's still simple and a kinda cute little tech toy. Worth it for under $20 if you're looking for something unique looking to toy with.

excellent, fun, overperforms
Possibly the best 24 bucks I've ever spent.I built it in an evening, the hardest part is assembling the case, good soldering practice for anyone who has an idea of how to do it, complete noobs should watch some u tube vids before attempting it, the only problem I found was that the power switch would not fit into its hole, I used a nail file to lengthen the hole in a couple of minutes, the case will crack if abused. Once it's assembled it is quite sturdy and the sound quality and volume are great for the price, surprisingly loud, no real distortion at max volume, obviously not audiophile quality but I was impressed by the sound quality. The bluetooth is also very good, long range, easy connections.I like the lightshow, some people might be able to modify it to suit their taste.I'm thinking about putting a battery in it to make it more portable. If you think you want one buy it, you won't regret it.

Acrylic too thin
The acrylic is too thin and easy to break. All my other similar projects have thicker acrylic so it doesn't break so easily. This unit cracked just screwing it together. Other than that, it was a quick, fun project.
