effective, looks good, works good
I installed these on a rooftop on a college building, it has been there, doing its job for about 6-7 months. the building used to have a lot of pigeons around, I applied other techniques combined with the use of this and it has been working really good.effective.

shoddy parts, doesn’t scare cactus wren
I got this knowing the reviews were not so good and a lot mention it not spinning.I ordered anyway thinking it can't be too hard to fix if there was a problem.I got it and removed it from the box. Immediately I noticed it was binding when I spun it.There was no way it would even spin with a breeze. Since it only had 4 screws and looked simple, I decided to takeit apart to trouble shoot. As soon as I separated the spinner from the bearing you could see the problem. They used a standard sealed bearing. The problem was on one side, it looked like someone took a hammer and screwdriver to the bearing shield and dented it all in on one half. Since it was dented in on one half, the other half was raised. The raised side was rubbing against the retainer clip preventing it from spinning freely. The stand is nice and solid, the spinner is chromed plastic (as I expected). The only fault was someone jacked up the bearing. I will return for another one because Im sure it will do the job. The question is, how many will I get before I get one that is functioning correctly. I don't have the option to add a pic here, but will try to add one after I submit this.REVIEW UPDATE: seller replaced item immediately, great customer service. Attaching a picture to show that this device does not seem to faze the cactus Wren

My 6:00 AM wake up call has ceased!
What's more annoying than some dopey bird pecking at your roof at 6:00 AM? No longer do I find myself outside squirting the little twerp with a hose to drive him off. This is particularly true of the lovely desert woodpeckers that poke holes in anything that's stationary for more than 3 seconds.I bought this item with little hope that it would work. To my surprise, it does! Now... for it to work, it has to move as woodpeckers, apparently, don't seem to like shiny moving things. When the air movement ceases, the effectiveness drops. Since we live in the desert Southwest, flat roofs are common and there are few places to affix these to where they would catch the breeze. My solution was to mount it in proximity to the air stream of the fan on our roof mounted heat pump. When it's running, the reflector rotates... which is what deters the little twerps in the early morning hours as the heat pump is either running to heat or cool at that time of day. The rest of the day, it's breezy enough for the reflector to spin on it's own. Oddly, spooking the woodies has also reduced their desire to destroy our orange crop... a nice side benefit. Now, if only I could find something to chase off those dopey Mourning Doves that use the entire world as their toilet.....

Association approved
I bought 5 to put around my house, I am not sure yet whether these really work but I am hopeful, since my neighbourhood has a real issue with bird nesting in properties.

Better Than The Bird-B-Gone Spider 360
I first bought the Bird-B-Gone Spider 360 in the 2-foot model. I wanted something to put on the antenna mast so the birds and woodpeckers would not sit on the antenna and leave bird droppings on my flat garage roof. From the photo, I bought a 3/4 inch galvanized floor flange and 3/4 inch PVC pipe so that I could put together a way to mount this on the 1.25 antenna mast.I was disappointed with the spider and even with a 20 mph wind the spider did not rotate and the stainless steel arms did not move. I still had woodpeckers clinging to the antenna mast and decided to exchange this for the Bird-B-Gone Reflect-A-Bird because it mentions that it is good for woodpeckers.I used the same mount but had to drill new holes the the base of the Reflect-A-Bird so that I could mount it on top of my antenna mast.Even with a one mph wind the reflector spins, and no more woodpeckers. This by far is the best device and since installing it I have not had a bird or woodpecker on the antenna.I also added several Reflective Scare Rods that I bought on Amazon and they spin in the wind and keep the birds off of the antenna. By adding these devices it does not interfere with receiving a great signal from the antenna. This really works and that is why I am writing my review because the Reflet-A-Bird is worth the money.

AWESOME Woodpecker deterrent
This spinner is the only thing I have found to stop woodpeckers from hammering on my house and 4 of the neighbors' homes, as well. Bought clear weatherproof Gorilla Glue and glued the metal base of the spinner to a 12 inch by 12 inch ceramic tile and put up on my patio roof. Such a great relief from the noise and worry of the possible damage to our home. Previous home, a woodpecker hammered a hole in our patio roof. I have spent some money purchasing the teardrop shape reflectors, a roll of flashing tape, bird spikes to put in gutters, etc. Nothing completely stopped the woodpeckers, until I put up this spinner! Have seen businesses with these on their roofs, but did not know what they were called or where they bought them from. When searching Amazon, I accidentally stumbled across this spinner. While I thought it a bit pricey, decided I had to have it. Best purchase ever if dealing with woodpeckers or anything else, that shiny movements will scare off!
