Just what I was looking for!
Just had my second full hip replacement. With my first hip replacement, I found my regular recliner was too hard to get in and out of because it is also a rocker. I also needed something I could sleep in, in my bedroom, when my bed became uncomfortable due to having to have a pillow between my legs and lying flat isn't always comfortable enough with this kind of surgery. So it also needed to be mobile. This recliner is wonderful!! It is a lifesaver. Worth every penny I spent on it. Well constructed. Feels very sturdy and stable. I can get into it on my own. However, I still do need a little help getting out of it. But this is my first day out of the hospital. I slept most of the night in the recliner. Very comfortable. Also, the recline can be locked in at any angle. And the locking mechanism actually works. It is light enough that my wife can carry it up and down the stairs from our bedroom to the Recroom. It is everything I was hoping it would be to help with my recovery. So the second day of using this chair, I am able to get in and out of it without help, I'm comfortably sleeping in it all night long after my second total hip replacement. Very stable, comfortable, and well constructed. So much so, I've ordered a second one.

Extremely comfortable recliner - less so for sitting straight up
This chair is well-built and extremely comfortable in the reclined positions...EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE. If it were up to me, I would use a few of these to replace the couch in the living room. Alas, these aren't quite my wife's style for that sort of thing ;)That said, the "straight up" sitting position is a little awkward. My wife and I are both 5' 11", and our feet don't even touch the ground when sitting straight up, which makes this chair a bit hard to use for sitting up and eating or conversing at backyard barbecues, concerts, block parties, etc. We definitely plan to keep these for when we're just relaxing at the campsite, but sadly we may have to augment our collection with additional (different) chairs that are more suited to sitting upright.

Very comfortable.
These are very comfortable. Light enough to move about the patio, but solid. Only flaw I see right now is some early wear on the finish of the arms. We have only had them a couple of months, they are in a covered/protected area and yet the finish on the arms is obviously going to need to be redone after this outdoor season. Our prior chairs of the same brand (also kept on a covered/protected deck) had no issues with the finish for several years. Because the current finding is on both of the chairs we purchased, this appears to be a process flaw. Otherwise, the price was excellent, they are extremely comfortable and we are happy with our purchase.

Extra Large and Solid Chair
Salespeople that are trying to be polite refer to me as a "big guy". This chair feels secure under my 300 pound frame, and I'm finding myself spending more time in it than I planned. Of course, if I was the kind of guy that exercised instead of sitting in comfortable chairs, I wouldn't need one like this.I wish that the bottom fron came in a little more, so that when I was getting in or out my feet were planted more directly under me. Getting up is a bit more of a struggle than I prefer.I had another, similar chair, different brand. It fell apart over time, but never felt as solid as the ALPS.

Well made but low off the ground
Well made. A bit low for me as I have bad knees and a bad back. I may give away to friend as it also isnโt as adjustable as I was hoping. Still a good product. I have one if their chairs which I love.

Love it!
This is, without exaggeration, the most comfortable lounge chair I've ever sat in. Love the pillow, which is fastened on with an elastic band, and can be used as a head pillow, or slid down for a lumbar pillow if you prefer. It's also very nice looking, and clearly well made. There are no bars to dig into your lower back (a pet peeve!), and it reclines smoothly & comfortably. I've been wanting an anti-gravity lounge for a long time, and I'm very glad I chose this one- although it's a little pricier than some other I've seen, it's very sturdy & worth every penny.

I was expecting it to be more comfortable. In the upright position my head does not ...
The first one I had the Mechanism that locks it in place broke. It's quite heavy to carry around. I was expecting it to be more comfortable. In the upright position my head does not feel supported. In the reclined position I feel like I would be more comfortable if it reclined a little bit more. I left this chair outside for about a month. The Armrests are now all black and stained. I do not recommend this product.

ALPS Mountaineering lounge chair
The chair is great. High enough off the ground to easily get in and out. The arm rests are a warm, smooth wood. (not a cheap plastic) The chair does not tip back as far as I would like but far enough that I stay awake during movies. My only serious problem was with the first chair. A bolt head popped off and made the chair unusable. (over tightening bolt during construction could cause problem or just a bad bolt.) The supplier sent a replacement which has not had that problem.
