It will hold it . I use it at work to write all my reports on it has been thur a lot and still works great

Does anyone know the interior depth? I know the specs say 2.54 in. but I believe that is the outside dimension.

The interior depth is approximately 3/4 of an inch on one side or a total of 1 1/2 inches closed.

Are the pins that hold the pouch into place replaceable?

Uncertain. They look like something that can be found at a hardware store, or a reasonable substitute, but I have not looked for them

Why is the price so high? it’s literally half the price at home depot? is this a special edition? that warrants such a higher price?

If I could find it Home Depot, I would by 2-3 more
