Milk Thermometer - Make The Perfect Coffee or Espresso - Coffee Accessories - Easy & Quick Clean Up

After agonizing over which thermometer to get (due to reviews all over the map), I finally selected this CREMA PRO - and I'm glad I did.Contrary to some comments, mine came perfectly calibrated and very fast reading. The green range indicator makes it very easy to read in the bleary-eyed morning too. The clip is perfect for my stainless steel milk pitcher. The price was right and I couldn't be happier.Oh, and the milk comes out prefect - silky smooth and rich.

Seems to function as it should, but cannot vouch for its accuracy since I have no other device to compare by. However, make sure when checking your liquid that the whole shaft is immersed or your reading will not be correct! Happy drinking. Oh, if you are hard of seeing, get a thermometer with twice the size dial.

Handy clip attaches thermometer to the side of steel milk pitcher for steaming milk. Works really well as the froth seems perfect!

This is very handy for a new barista. My wife was a barista for 16 years and noticed immediately that I was scorching (slightly) the milk I was steaming for lattes. She told me they got good at just using their hand to gauge temperature and only used the thermometer for new hires during training at her old job. I want to do latte art and balancing the right texture with temperature (so it tastes good as well) is a challenge so I'm using this to help out for now. Checked against my digital instant read from Thermopop (no clip to hold it though) it's plenty accurate but a little laggy since it's mechanical (no more than others).

I checked the accuracy of this against two different thermocouples, and was pleasantly surprised, it's spot on. I didn't have to calibrate it at all, although it's nice that it comes with a tool for doing that.My only complaint, which is pretty minor, is about the stainless clip it come with. If it had one more hole, it would be perfect. As it is, it holds the thermometer out at an angle such that it gets in the way. If you've got access to a 3d printer, you can print a much nicer one - I just uploaded the files for one to Thingiverse.com ...
