Easy.My light trailer needed rewired -- its been nearly 20 years of fixes and jiggling of the existing wiring.I bought this to I can have a 7-way on my now 4-flat light trailer direct to my SUV which is a 7-pin. I got tired of using/losing the 7 to 4 way adapter.The pros: ultimately configurable and flexible for many configurations.The cons: 4' was too short and I ended up not using it. Sigh, still have that pesky adapter and this is sitting on the shelf. Perhaps I'll use it on my heavy trailer later (tandem axel w/ brakes). Also, the weather seals around the (customer provided) wires are too loose and don't seal around thinner wire. Make sure you get thicker wire such as it comes with.

I was replacing my old one that I damaged. So I was able to use my old one and matched wire color to wire color. It was a perfect match for my 2018 keystone bullet camper.

Finally got around to installing it. It works great. Replaced the ugly mess of wires the dealer calls professional install.

the original pigtail on my trailer stopped working. This pigtail was an easy replacement

The box and connections are well built. The plug seems decent enough.Problem I have is the layout of the plug cannot be repinned, and the box is wired incorrectly. They do supply you with a little layout form, but its up to you to move all but 2 (brakes and ground specifically) of the terminal ends to make work with US based vehicles.
