Q: Is the bottom of this tankard clear?

Hi, this has a pewter base, so no it is not clear. Regards, EPC

Q: Can I actually drink beer from this?

I researched this same question. There are two opinions, mainly. The first is that it is safe to drink carbonated beverages from pewter since pewter no longer contains lead. The second is that the carbonation still leaches what amounts to EXTREMELY small amounts of metals from the pewter, and therefore may be hazardous. I am in the first camp and drink carbonated beverages from mine. I would say go ahead and enjoy your beer!🙂
