Helpful
I was searching for a Bible Atlas that was compact, portable yet helpful in covering the geography of events that took place in the Bible. Having a Bible Atlas handy is a great tool if you are serious about studying the Bible: It not only makes historical narratives in the Old and New Testament become alive but sometimes it answers questions and provide deeper insights into a passage of what’s going on. I thought this book was helpful for both preachers and the layperson and it is worth purchasing. The book begins first with a section on the elevation of the Promise Land. Israel is a land of extremes with it having the lowest place on the surface of the earth while also having Mount Hermon that is 9,200 feet above sea level. The next section then looks at the biblical region overall and here I learned that places mentioned in the Bible cover over fifteen modern states today. The third section of the book covers the topic of finding out where places were. After that the book takes a chronological order of the Bible beginning with the cradle of civilization all the way to the expansion of Christianity during the New Testament church age. Each section has a clear title such as “The Time of the Prophets” followed by subtitles that gives the approximate date. I appreciated the various kinds of maps throughout the book. It ranges from satellite images, political maps and topological maps. I loved how the book gives us paths that people took such as the invasion of Canaan by the Hebrews and I love it when the author included a sidebar titled “Journey (All distances direct)” in which Nick Page gave mileage from one destination to another. It seems like the book had more of these in the beginning of the book and I wished there were more of them so get the feel of the amount of distance the people walked back then. There are also other sidebars throughout the book such as “Through the Bible” that features a timeline of different cities and geographical areas. I like these a lot since you get a better sense of how different events took places in the same geographical areas over the span of hundreds and thousands of years. Another helpful feature of the book is each section having a “Read all About It” tab on the upper right hand corner that gives the readers the passage of Scripture the section is covering over. I do wish that the publishers made this feature more prominent since I did not notice the Scriptural references given until I was into the book for a fifth of the book. Even making it in bold and bigger font would be already a small step towards a great improvement.I recommend the book. I even ordered this for another pastor. I know my copy would be something I’m going to be using in the years ahead both for my own personal study and also when I teach others (I already have went through the part on Egypt with my own kids). I found this book helpful.NOTE: This book was provided to me free by Kregel Publications without any obligation for a positive review. Highly Readable, Well Illustrated and Organized - Valuable, Quick Reference
I found the book at the Santa Monica Public Library and ended up ordering a couple of copies, one for me and one as a gift.As the prior reviewer notes it is not the definitive reference book but, rather a highly readable and well illustrated series of maps and notes that are a great help. The maps help tie together the many places of significance.I think it will be a great help young people in the clarity of the large scale maps and the brevity of the notes. One tool in the essential toolkit. Bought one for myself and one for my niece

The One-Stop Bible Atlas (One-Stop series)...
On a recent trip to Israel... I almost purchased this book at the bookstore at the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem... something said that I may not be able to get it on Amazon so I should get it then.Again Amazon comes through, and I saved myself over 6 dollars by waiting until I got home to buy the book.It is an excellent resource that I find myself referring to when reading the Old Testament.

One Stop Bible Atlas
This atlas is a simple, straightforward guide to Biblical lands. The book contains maps and supporting text and timelines that help the reader get a grasp on Biblical facts and timeframes. The maps are clear and to the point and provide the basic information most users are looking for. While it lacks the details in text and information that some Bible atlases provide, this book's price and appearance will make it appealing to the casual student of the Bible. While the book makes no pretenses about delivering what it does not intend to, there are some peculiarities about the atlas. For starters, there are color coded sections that the introduction and the index do not explain. Second, the supporting text is more like captions rather than detailed chapters that miost other atlases utilize. Perhaps this is intentional, a way to make this atlas appealing to younger readers or those who are not seeking the in-depth text other atlases provide. Finally, there are dashed boxes around some of the maps that give it that newspaper "coupon" appearance. I'm not sure what the intention was in this case other than again to make the book look less like a college textbook and more like a user-friendly church library book. But these observations are not meant to criticize and do not take away from the charm of this book. The book is part of a "one stop" series that should be approached with some caution. It may be one stop for the non-serious student, but people looking for details will need to make more than one stoip to obtain their information.

Very useful.
Anyone studying the Old Testament will love this Bible Atlas. I'm one of those people who can't imagine where all the territories are and what stage new regions were developed. I have found it easier to follow the O.T. prophets since purchasing this book. Lovely graphics, easy reading.
