Razor HD Baby Brother In Nearly Every Way, Except The Price!
This is literally the Razor HD minus Japanese made glass and Japanese build. So meaning, it's the baby brother that has the next best thing. Philippine glass with Philippine build. Why should you buy it over others in the same price category? Simple... Quality to price performance. This things functions similar to the Razor HD. Great capped turrets with tactile clicks. Diopter works very well but the magnification lever is a bit stiff even after years of use. Is this a bad thing? No. Just put a throw lever on it and done. Very easy to adjust everything. Aside from the build and glass quality compared to a Razor HD, this is a bigger or should I say longer optic. But even so, it still goes well on a 14.5 and up AR Recce build. Speaking of clarity, again, the glass is Philippines made glass. If you're not familiar, Philippines made glass is mid to high end tier. With Japan and Germany being the top tier. So you're getting great glass in this optic. Lastly, what about the illumination? Well, it's absolutely day light bright. With it on at 1 power, this things acts nearly like a red dot. I said nearly because you still have a bit of parallax and scope shadow even at 1x. But in all honesty, if you set it up correctly, it can be used at 1x like a red dot. This is how I have this setup in my Recce build on a Midwest Industries QD mount. Speaking of mount, this thing holds zero even after multiple times of mounting and dismounting on a rifle. Even dropped it a couple of times by accident and it held zero. Although it is now scratched up, but I like my scopes having battle scars. But no issues with the scopes functionality. Overall, this LPVO will go down in history of LPVOs as "the sweet spot" when it comes to price to performance. If you want some Razor HD quality but don't want to pay Razor HD price, this is the closest thing. Just in case you're wondering, I own a Razor HD as well, just not at 1-6x. Owning the Razor HD makes me wonder why I even forked out more money for it when this thing is tried and true as well.

Very nice scope!
Very clear glass, tactical turret adjustments with a solid click and best of all it's daylight bright and has a shutoff between brightness levels. Get one, best LPVO MSR scope under $1,000.00 with the VIP warranty to back it up. I have 2 HS-T and 1 HS Vipers on my hunting rifles with a Venom red dot on my pistol. Love every one of them.

Worth every penny
This optic exceeds my expectations and I’ve used a lot of scopes over the years. The clarity is top notch and the build is exceptional. Just to clear the air on some of the negatives I read before I bought. The red dot is 100% daylight bright. Even on setting 6-7 is daylight bright. 10 is too bright honestly. The scope lever itself is super smooth and NOT hard to turn at all. Great job on the scope vortex.

Great optic, wish the finish was just a little tougher.
Worked great at 1x all the way up to 6x. Dot is really bright and easy to pick up even in the desert with the sun out. I was disappointed that some of the finish came off from the simple operation of installing a battery, but it doesn't matter all that much.

A great scope for a Ruger/ Marlin 1895 Guide.
This is my 5th Vortex. I find them to be a great valve and a good scope. Vortex’s VIP warranty is no joke: they stand behind their scopes. The Viper 1x6 is a noticeable step up in lense quality from the Strike Eagle. The dot illuminated center has well thought out brightness levels( 1-5 for low light, 6-10 for bright daylight) . The reticle itself is ideal for the .45-70 and will make it a 300 yard rifle without turning knobs. Eye relief is ample. The field of view is especially wide. The trade off being a bit of parallex. Placing your stock weld consistently will fix this. Heavier than other options, but solidly built. I really compared what scope to mount on a lever action big bore. The Vortex Viper has a number of unique features that makes it a standout choice.

Great optic below $600
I’ve had a Razor 1-6 and can put this against it. It’s not a Razor, let’s get that out of the way but it’s like 80% of the way there. Mine is very clear, edge to edge. It is heavy but I guess that means it’s beefy inside. I do need to get a throw lever as it’s as tight to adjust as my Razor. Build quality feels up there with the razor. Clicks and caps are very nice and solid. Very bright reticle. I would say this is an excellent 1-6x. I wish trijicon had a 1-6 in this price range, I have their 1-4 and that is a great optic as well. I also have the 1-6 and 1-8 StrikeEagles. This definitely has better glass and those you don’t have the clarity at the edges and the eye relief isn’t as forgiving. So you get what you pay for.

Crystal clear and very easy to adjust
This is an exceptional scope. Crystal clear and very easy to adjust. All adjustments are easy and crisp. Parallax, turret adjustment, scope power and adjustments on the personal focus are great. Turning on and off the illuminated reticle is a tad more difficult (as it should be) and make it unlikely that the light will be accidentally turned on It has a system called RZR Zero stop which is amazing. you set this for elevation only. Once the scope is sighted in you set this at zero and no matter what changes you make to the turret elevation adjustments when you turn it back to zero it is exactly where it was when you sighted it in. To further explain lets say you want to take a 1,000 yard shot and you know the bullet will drop 125 inches. You would turn the top turret 1/2 turn (up) (12.5 MOA) and your reticle would now be "on the money" at 1,000 yards. Once you have made the shot you dial it back down and it goes to your original zero and stops at that point. For the money all Vortex optics represent one of the best value there is.

Entfernungseinstellung in Yard, Paralaxe in Yard, Strichplatte in MOA. Ich empfehle eine vernünftige Quick Detach Montagebasis oder vernünftige Montageringe um die Optik bestmöglich nutzen zu können. Bei .308 Win (7,62x51) keine Abweichungen meinerseits feststellbar.
