Capella Flavor Drops Pear with Stevia Concentrate 13ml

>.. For family desserts, I make "Adult" Jello. No alcohol, just very intense flavors to please an adult's tastes, and to clear the palate following a hearty meal. As a diabetic, I make these desserts without sugar and as little carbs as possible. I like to present flavors that are real, and not the "candy" flavors available.>.. I have been using no sugar added pear syrup as a base for the flavor, but at 80 carbs per 100 ml (a little over 3 oz.) even divided into 6 or 8 dishes, which would include cut up pears (in season) that add their own carbs, would over-loaded dessert. I was looking for an intense flavor source that tasted "real." I use either Barlett Pears, or Anjou Pears to cut up into the gelatin. Depending on the unflavored gelatin I use (regular or extra-strength) I make either a liter (quart) or 1.5 liters (6 pints), so a fair amount of flavoring is necessary to flavor that volume.>.. These drops delivered! Less than a third of the bottle into a liter (quart) of gelatin gives a remarkable taste of fresh pears. And the addition of cut-up chunks of real pears only increases the taste and texture. The addition of a 1/4 tsp. of citric acid keeps the pears from discoloring without giving the pear flavor a sharp taste.>.. Not all Capella flavors are sweetened with stevia, so if you are looking for "sweet" flavors, choose from their 'Stevia Sweetened' line of flavors. If you wish to make your own sweetening, then most of their flavors will be good for you. Most flavors have your tongue to please, and so they publish a range of dilutions per their flavor: from 1% to 9% (I assume by weight, though it could be by volume). I would suggest starting at the lower end of the published ranges, and add flavoring until it agrees with your tongue.>.. If you are happy with the commercial flavors of gelatin, then this product is of little use for you. But, when you are ready to move up to "adult" flavors, here is one that works!

Love these pear flavor drops. It mixed well with Coke Zero and water!

The pear drops remind me of Hint water! I do 3 drops for a 20oz bottle. Yummy!!

Too sugary, doesn't taste much like pear.

Maybe there's something wrong with me - or maybe because it was a food product delivered to a very hit climate - but, it tastes like nothing. Barely a small. No flavor.

It wasn’t wonderfully pear flavored.
