This thing is wonderful! I have a low cervix so I can’t wear tampons comfortably. This has been a life saver especially for the summertime. I can now swim when I’m actively bleeding, and don’t have to wear a thick pad when it’s super hot outside. It’s so comfortable I don’t even feel it in there. It self empties when you use the bathroom so you don’t have to take it out every 4-6 hours like a tampon. I’ve saved so much money, not having to buy period products anymore! The only thing I stay stocked up on now is panty liners, because occasionally after you’ve used the bathroom it can leak slightly from where it emptied and some was still left inside. Can’t rave about this thing enough, I’ve put all of my girlfriends on to this product and not one of them have anything negative to say about it! It also comes with a cute convenient pouch to keep it in, in between cycles. It’s easy to put in because the material is flexible, and real easy to take out because of the “string” attached, so you don’t have to go digging like you do with other cups. It forms to your body so its not just some solid thing in there making you uncomfortable. The material is super soft and the cup part is so comfortably thin and the quality is great, honestly I think this thing could last a lifetime, and you’d probably never need to replace it if you didn't want to. Such a great product!

I just finished my cycle and let me tell you, my life is CHANGED. At first, I was quite scared to try the disc just because it was unfamiliar with it and because I was scared it would hurt or would not work properly, however, im glad I got over that fear. First of all, I love how the disc comes with extra items like feminine wipes and lube and of course, the case. It kind of forces you to get to know your body better as you’re putting it in a certain way and I like how as opposed to tampons, it won’t cause TSS and only have to basically change it out twice in a day. I never felt it and it never leaked. Another plus was the string, which made it easier to pull out. It has definitely made me feel better about my period and somehow made it feel lighter and shorter? I have heard the customer service is also great from this company. So 10/10 experience. It is also great for the environment and cost effective on the long run as you don’t have to spend any more money on menstrual products. Truly such a great innovation, I LOVE IT!! and if you’re scared just as I was, just know that sometimes we have to get out of a comfort zone to get to a better place :)

Wife here using husbands account. My name is Bianca and I wanted to share my experience because I know how intimidating menstrual discs can seem at first. Before trying Pixie, I used the disposable Flex Disc, and it fit me really well. Like most beginners, insertion was a little messy and intimidating at first, and I did have some cramping while my body got used to wearing a disc. After a few cycles, though, it became much easier. When I decided to switch to a reusable disc, Pixie immediately stood out to me. Their branding and packaging are beautiful and feel so thoughtfully designed. I also bought their sterilizer, and I love how everything matches and feels like a complete system. It genuinely feels like a brand that’s trying to make women feel comfortable, informed, and confident about their bodies. For me personally, the medium size hasn’t been the best fit—it seems like I may need a larger size. I reached out to Pixie’s customer service, explained what was happening, and they responded almost immediately. They were incredibly kind, attentive, and offered to send me a large size free of charge so I can see if it’s a better fit. That level of customer care really impressed me. Every body is different, so finding the right size can take some trial and error. I’m excited to try the large disc, and I’m hopeful it’ll be a better fit. If not, I may need to experiment with another brand or style—but regardless, Pixie has earned my respect for how they stand behind their products and truly care about their customers. I’ll come back and update this review after I’ve tried the large size. So far, my experience with their customer service has been outstanding, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend giving them a try.

The kit is great, customer service awesome, the disc is mostly great. My problem is that I had the string crack on TWO of these in 6 months. They are supposed to last 10 years. The first time it happened I emailed customer service and they replaced it saying that it "doesn't typically happen but can happen with more use. That being said" they sent me a new disc. But I didn't bother emailing about the second one that cracked as I think they won't be sending anymore replacements for that. If the disc is supposed to last 10 years so should the string I have to use to pull it out - and I do have to because I have a high cervix and can't reach it otherwise. So I found a different disc that has loops that aren't stretchy and should last a lot longer. This disc is great if you don't need the string or only use it to find the disc and customer service is FANTASTIC for every other thing. When I tried the cup and hated it, they sent me a disc for free.

My wife got this and so this review will be based on her opinion and written by her: I got this disc after seeing that it's something new new and different from the menstrual cups. I have been a cup user for about 4-5 yrs and felt that they are not as comfortable and leaks most of the time when on heavier days. After reading the great features of the disc, I was ready to make the switch and honestly, will not be going back to the cups. So with the disc, leaking only happens on the more heavier days (and I do have very heavy flow for the 1st 1-2 days), so I do have to wear a backup pad. I am very satisfied w/the "self-emptying" function on those heavy days. I have to say it really does self-empties every time I use the toilet on those heavy flow days. The other days, the disc doesn't leak at all, I can be rest assured that I can just keep it in there for the max 12 hrs and won't have to worry about it. The other plus about this disc is the comfort of it. After insertion, I don't feel anything anymore and it pretty much stays put the entire time until I take it out. This is a great improvement from cups because I noticed that the cups I used would slide down and cause me discomfort after a while. It's worse when I'm using the toilet. Insertion is also easier than a cup. This disc is amazing compared to the menstrual cups. For one thing it doesn't have the suction function, but instead it rests right on top of the pelvic bone under the cervix, so it pretty much catches the flow if placed correctly. It's a learning process, but pretty similar to inserting the cup. I have no significant issues inserting the disc in, only once in a while I don't always placed it in correctly and it'll be immediately noticeable because the edge will not sit on top of the pelvic bone no matter how I pushed it. One of the minus I have to say is that taking it out is much messier than a cup, but I learned that it's not so bad when using the tail to pull it out slowly, and making sure the disc stays upright. The only thing though is I noticed that the tail started to show signs of wear and tear along the entire tail stem. and I got this disc back in May (which is only about 5-6 months ago). It looks like it can break any day now and I only used the disc during my period which lasts about 6-7 days per month. So I have to say that the tail is too frail because I'm very dependent on it when taking out the disc. On the cups, I never needed the tail, and as a matter of fact, I actually trim it off because they are uncomfortable and keeps sticking out. But I'm totally dependent on the tail on this disc and it's actually very easy to tuck it in after the disc is on top of the pelvic bone. I just wish the tail is made much stronger and more durable. Now I have to be careful not to tug too hard. Overall, I am amazed with this disc. After using it, I'm never going back to the cup.

It’s my second time buying from this brand. I really like their menstrual discs, and so far I’ve had no issues. I will always recommend discs for anyone with heavy and difficult periods. It makes me feel so secure and I never worry about leaks or accidents. My first disc lasted about 5 years, so I’m hoping the same for this one!

I have been using the Pixie Disk for the past 2 years and it has been a real life changer! I recommend it to all of my friends and anyone who will listen, lol! For a little more money upfront, I have saved hundreds of dollars that I would have spent on tampons. Once you learn how to insert it properly and sanitize it, its very easy! I leave it in all day and don't have to worry about forgetting to pack more tampons for the day, because it self empties when you use the restroom. It has made managing my period a lot easier, and it's made from medical grade silicone so I feel more comfortable about putting that in my body rather than cotton soaked with pesticides. My disk did rip recently during cleaning (which could be expected after using it solely for 2 years) but I activated the warranty when I originally bought it, so I contacted the Pixie team through their website. They immediately reached out to me that same day and once I sent them my order number, they shipped me a replacement disk! If you are trying to decide whether to order it or not, give it a chance! There is a small learning curve so take it out in the shower to begin with, but if I can figure it out, so can you! :)

Update! I must have the wrong size because it leaks on my heavy days and I still need to wear a pad. So I'll try a small and see how it goes from there. So I've only used this for my light days so far ( I bought it at the end of my period) and this is soooo easy compared to the diva cup. Just tug and go when you want it out. I got the medium and I think it's a perfect size for me. I'll update when I use this for my heavy days but I've got a pretty good feeling about it!

I’ve got endometriosis and adenomyosis, and I’ve struggled with horrendously heavy periods since I was 14. I finally found my perfect period protection just in time for my last 3 periods, and then I hit menopause. Sod’s law! The disc is made of beautifully silky, soft silicone, with a thicker rim to help it keep its shape and stay in place. I used an applicator to insert it because I’ve got a very retroverted uterus and I found it tricky to get the back edge of the disc past my cervix and into the right position. Once I’d worked that out, using the disc was a breeze… no risk of it getting stuck because it doesn’t use suction to stay in place, unlike menstrual cups. Autodumping made it convenient for work, days and nights out etc because it means you can empty the disc without removing it. Removal is simple and stress free with the soft, comfortable stem, and the capacity of the large size was more than a match for my heaviest days. I had no leaks at all, even when riding my young, sharp Hanoverian mare, with lots of spooking, broncing, bucking and general dumblood fun and games. If it can cope with that, it can cope with anything! The colours are great. I got the navy blue large size and the dark green small one, and they come in attractive, zip up cloth pouches with sachets of lube, wet wipes and disc and cup wash included. Being able to have sex with the disc in place is a bonus too, just make sure you empty it first to avoid leaks, and obviously clean the disc thoroughly afterwards. Thank you Pixie, you’ve got a wonder product here. I’m so glad that younger women have Pixie Disc as an option because it’s easy to use, convenient, effective and comfortable, and it looks great too.

Update: I like it. After my last review pixie reached out with an apology and they could not have done more for me. I'm very impressed with the customer care i received. They were able to advise another size for me and so far it seems to be working. I'm still not 100% trusting of the self empty feature, but it did not give me any issues during my last cycle and hopefully won't in the future. For anyone buying a disc or cup, I'd advise also getting a portable bidet to help with clean ups. I'm leaving my old review below for anyone else experiencing similar issues. For me, it ended up being a sizing problem. This disc has been an absolute let down. I got it to try instead of the cup which had been making my cramps worse. This was marketed at a softer, more comfortable alternative. Well, I tried persisting with it, watching multiple instructional tutorials, inserting and reinserted and rooting around up there to check it's all in position (which is inconvenienton on its own if youre in a public bathroom looking like youve just commited a crime). It's awkward, it's uncomfortable, its VERY messy, and it only works as long as I sit perfectly still. They say it's self emptying, which I'm convinced is a flaw that they are calling a feature. It "self empties" all of the time, always when it's most inconvenient. Walking down the street? Working out? Need to use the bathroom? It's gonna self empty. The disc doesn't care if your in a meeting, walking your dog, or waiting in line. ITS GONNA SELF EMPTY. It's worse than using nothing, because you get a wave all at once as it dumps everything, and then you have a much bigger mess to clean up. I'm so mad. I'm so embarrassed, and I'm so disappointed. I tried reaching out to pixie support through their website. That was a month ago and I never received a response. So, this is getting returned and at least I'll get my money back, so I won't have had to pay for the displeasure of using this useless thing.

This was my first time trying a menstrual disc and I wasn't exactly sure what size to go for and ended up going too small. I reached out to Pixie customer services and they were lovely enough to send me a larger size. For a first time user I do really appreciate that the disc has a stem, I tried the hooking my finger over the rim and it just didn't work so this design is really helpful. The disc itself is quite soft but also feels sturdy and once it's in it is really easy to forget that it's there. The disc comes with a little bag, some feminine wipes and plant based lubricant. It's great for being on the go and is quite inconspicuous. It's really obvious that this whole set was designed with care and thoughtfulness and it's lovely to see.
