This is quite a nice comb. The horn parts are very nicely polished, with no sharp edges. The comb even comes with a little velvet bag to keep it in so it doesn't get scratched up by anything else where you're keeping it. The handle feels nice in the hand, and the colour of the wood is very pretty. Overall, I'm pretty happy with this comb. I hope the horn tines will be more durable than wooden tines.

So I got this comb because I liked the tooth spacing and the materials it's made from. I like wood and other rustic "earthy" things. Leather and the like. They dont build a static charge and they feel better in-hand. Now this comb was smaller than I thought, but considering the teeth are Buffalo horn, it's size wasnt a deal breaker. Its handle fit perfectly in my hand and those smooth, perfectly spaced teeth combed right through my thick curly hair. I had been struggling to detangle my mane for months with a cheap plastic comb I had that would tear out wads of hair out as it went. I combed through once, just once, with this new comb and immediately hurled that plastic one into the garbage pile. It glided through my hair and a gentle pull would tame any unruly knots. The best part? I didn't have to collar and name the wads of hair that I pulled from the comb, because for the first time there wasn't any! This is my favorite comb and I've been using it for months.

Not only is the comb absolutely gorgeous, but it is perfect for my thick hair. The tooth width combs my hair well without damaging my hair, and the teeth brings a sheen to my hair that is very becoming. I would not want to do without this comb, and if something happened to the one I now have, I would definitely be looking to purchase another. The only con I can think of, is that others say it is very fragile. That is why I am very careful to treat it kindly, however I am gentle in nature anyway, but accidents are always a possibility, so I try not to drop it on a hard floor as an example.

I used to use a natural bristle brush for my long, thick hair, but I like this much better. The buffalo horn makes my hair more manageable than plastic and is easier to clean than the brushes I used to use. Love the violetwood handle. This is all I use now, I love that it's all natural, beautiful and makes a positive difference with my hair.
