Great unit
Great air cleaner - performing as advertised. 3 settings allows choice of air movement and noise (on the lowest setting we can’t even tell it’s on), and it does a wonderful job of cleaning the air and removing smells in a short amount of time on the highest setting. Very sturdy body, and the castors are solidly attached, smooth rolling, and make it very convenient to move the unit to different parts of the house. We believe this unit will last for many years to come.

Really works!
Bought this on my daughters recommendation. We had major construction done on our bedroom and bathroom. The paint and new carpet smells were awful. We ran this machine for 2 days and the smells were gone. It does hum on low, kind of sounds like the outside faucet is running. It is noisy on high, but we run it on high during the day when sound is not an issue.

Seems like it does the job well, but you may be exchanging it
My wife is super-sensitive to all sorts of allergens, so when she spotted this air cleaner, she was excited at the prospect of its possibly changing her life. We ordered one and she was like a kid around Christmas -- "Is it here yet?!" :)When it arrived, we unboxed it and immediately saw that it had a huge dent in one side, as if someone had hit it with a baseball bat. (We also noticed two screws that were just sitting in the bottom of the box and later realized that they were supposed to have been fastened at the bottom of the cleaner.) This thing weighs 50 pounds, so my hunch about the dent is that it may have fallen on its side at some point during transit to us and landed on a railing or the edge of a bin or something like that. While the bottom and top of the unit are encased in styrofoam (seems like there are other more-environmentally-friendly materials which could be used, but I'm no expert on that), the sides are protected only by the cardboard product box itself, exposing it to dent damage like we saw when we got it. (I've contacted the vendor with this information.) It also had black marks all around the top and our attempts to wipe those off were unsuccessful.Fortunately, Amazon was, as expected, great about our returning it, but it meant ordering a new one, boxing up the old one, and lugging it (remember, it's 50 pounds) to the car and into UPS.Ordinarily, I wouldn't focus on a product's package so much for a review, but IMO, it's 100% relevant to this product review because, based on our experience (and my assessment about the quality of the packaging), I believe that there is a greater-than-normal chance that your air cleaner will arrive damaged like ours did and you'll get the joy of returning it like we did.Leaving the questionable packaging decisions (and whatever caused it to be dirty) behind, it does seem to do what it claims. My wife has it set up near her home office and ordinarily leaves it on the low setting where it's barely audible. Sometimes, she'll put it on medium and it's clearly audible unless I'm a few rooms away. The high setting is pretty audible throughout the entire house. None of the noise is alarming or irregular (I imagine that many users can eventually learn to live with it being a source of white noise), but it's not silent by any stretch. The other reviews here seem to indicate that it runs a very long time without needing babysitting/maintenance/filter changes, so we're optimistic that it will work the same for us (although the loose screws in the first one we received don't inspire 100% confidence).Of course, time will tell if this helps my wife with her allergen sensitivity and associated breathing problems, but so far, so good.

Reliable and effective units
Bought my first one years ago after studying air filtration reviews for days. Just bought another for a new house, instead of moving the old one and replacing the filter (which is expensive).I'm one of those people who likes a white noise sound in the bedroom, and this filter provides that on the high setting, which saves me from buying a white noise machine. No assembly required, just unbox and plug in to start breathing cleaner air.I do think these are overpriced. Would love to see the full sized units selling at $400 which I think would be a fair price and would increase my rating to 5 stars.
