Build your Own Overland Camper manual (Haynes Manuals)

Ideas for overland camper build
Not as detailed as I hoped. It's more of an overall idea book not a step by step manual. A more detailed American version would be great.

Great book… lost my copy then bought another
This a a great reference book. I lost my copy and immediately bought another copy.Another good book is from Ulrich Dolde. I may have misspelled his name, but that one is even better, but more expensive.

There is a lot of good info here for those wanting a DIY camper
There is a lot of good info here for those wanting a DIY camper. While I'm not sure about building my own at this time, I wanted to know about certain aspects of the build, and this book has a lot of information and pictures in it. The price was right for this level of manual.

Great RV construction guide
Great book!! It can be used as a guide to build any type of RV from a teardrop to a fifth wheel and more. Granted there are so many different ways to build an RV that a single book couldn't cover it but this book comes close. It covers every aspect of building including chassis, tires, frames, electrical, heating , potable gray black water, this book has a lot of guidance.

A wealth of information
This book really does have a lot of information, whether you wish to go the expedition vehicle way or the standard RVroute. The photos are clear, the examples of expedition vehicles owned (and their experiences), and construction tipsmake this book very useful.

good primer a bit dated
Since the book was published lithium batteries have become the recommended storage and air conditioning has advanced a great deal. The book is overdue for a refresh.

Great book
Great book for learning how to build an overland camper. I went from knowing minimal to really understanding how and why to choose each component.

Nice hardcover for introduction, not an instruction manual
If your interested in this type of vehicle this book is a good first step. Interesting to contrast against the typical RVs sold in North America that encourage people to try to pull their house around (solid counter tops, tile floors, ovens, big flat panel TVs etc). Some interesting examples and ideas but not an instruction book. Fun to have on the coffee table as a conversation starter.

Best expedition / overland camper I have read, but could use a little refresh
Excellent Book for anyone looking to build an expedition / overland camper. It's a great resource summarising a lot of the important concepts, I have learned a lot from it.Some points for improvement in my opinion1. Some of the content is a little dated2. Content is very UK centric, which would be better if it was more international.
