Q: Is this made of latex?

no latex.....it is made of a soft material which is comfortable to sleep with and easily washed.

Q: does the mask's strap use VELCRO?

Yes, the mask uses a long, stretchy, very strong Velcro strap. My husband shifts positions a lot when he sleeps and has not had a hard time keeping it on his face. He also has a slightly large, round head (he's 6'3") and has not had a problem with the fit.

Q: What material does one's face come in contact with? Is it cotton?

it's a velvet/velour but there's no fiber content tag. It feels like a synthetic material but I have sensitive skin and had no irritation. It is hot in the summer, but as I am moving to Canada (AKA no summer land) I think I will probably use it again there.

Q: It states in the product description : washable & removable cover. how? mine has nowhere to open the seams. all seams are sewn tightly closed.

It does state that its washable with removable cover which is entirely untrue. I had been buying them for years through brookstone so i wasn't surprised when i bought through amazon & found that its not washable .
