Great for camping
We bought various sizes of these containers to take with us in our cooler for a long weekend camping trip. We took things like milk, orange juice, homemade salsa, cucumbers in vinegar, liquor. Everything fit so much neater into our cooler because of the rectangular shapes of these containers. If we had taken the items in their original containers, we would have had half the room! None of the containers leaked at all, which was a first for us. Normally on our camping trips either food leaks out or the melted ice water in the cooler leaks into the food so it's a constant struggle to stay on top of that. This time everything stayed perfectly sealed and we didn't have to worry about it. They are very sturdy in that I wasn't able to squeeze them with my bare hands so I knew they wouldn't get crushed in the cooler. All in all, I am very pleased with this product and will be buying more for our next trip!

Amazing quality and value, but needs a spout
I bought four of these for this low price, which is an exceptional value. Nalgene products tend to be on the pricey side. The high quality materials deliver, and the wide mouth, at long last, made it easy and hygienic to wash the inside of the bottle thoroughly--something that OTHER manufacturers of drinking bottles in general really, really need to address (besides stuffing a laughably cheap bottle brush into the package). The one thing this Nalgene bottle needs, though (and why I took off a star) is better ergonomics because, despite its storage-friendly design, it's unwieldy to pour from, even with daily practice. It takes both my hands, and still it either dribbles or overshoots the glass. If the bottle came with either an attachable ewer handle or a pouring spout (which are not as easy to find as I'd hoped), this would make it so much better. Again, though, I can't say enough about the materials: quality!***FOLLOW-UP: November 30, 2020Using the same bottles I purchased four years ago, and they're still goin' strong: no criticisms to add (or take away). I chose today to do a follow-up because I accidentally dropped one of these bottle, full, from the top of a staircase, and it came to rest on the landing below without any consequence. Well made, this!

Not for drinking water
Do NOT buy this. I wanted a safe plastic water container to take to work. The chemical smell of this plastic will not go away. I've let them air out and I've treated them with a baking soda/water solution to no avail. I'm not sure what chemicals or VOCs are leaching into my drinking water, therefore I will be throwing them away.

Only one drawback
Unfortunatly, even the flat sides of this Nalgene rectangle are ever so slightly concave so laying them down and stacking them on top of each other is not stable enough to be practical. When i tried, the pile became wobbly. So even though this Nalgene square is far superior to the round bottles in space efficiency, I still cant conserve my kitchen space as tightly as i had hoped. I do love these bottles, and would love to own lots of them. They are strong, clean, unsmelly, and have the added bonus of not rolling away if they tip or fall. They are the perfect size to hold a bulk recipe of pancake mix. Removing food items from the center hole does take some patience, but thats a minor inconvenience compared to all the great features of these rectangle bottles.

Liquid tight
I've used Nalgene containers for years in chemical labs and at home. To be blunt these liquid tight containers work well as porta-potties for guys in deer stands or bathroomless cabins when it's wet and cold outside. There is no spillage if they're tipped over. Containers with larger mouths (usually round containers) are not liquid tight. I've used quart sized ones for years though I've looked in the past, unsuccessfully, for two quart size for long nights after a lot of coffee or tea. When I found these I bought three. I drink out of the round ones and don't drink out of the rectangular ones. Of course these are good for other applications as well. They fit shelves well with no wasted space and will be liquid tight for any liquid. They're polyethylene so they can be used for pretty much any liquid , including oils and solvents and will last for years.

Rugged, reliable, and well-dimensioned containers.
We need rugged, durable, burst-proof containers and this Nalgene bottle really fits the bill. We haul food, liquids, etc. into remote cabins in Alaska year around by snow mobile, boat, backpack, etc. That means rough treatment, very cold conditions, jarring and lengthy trips. We must have reliable containers. We use these in 64 oz. size and know they will get there intact every time. They fit well into backpacks, and pack well in coolers or Action Packers.Highly recommended. Don't pay full price - you should be able to find them discounted.

Didn't realise as hard as a brick.
I thought this would save space backpacking but unfortunately that's not the case.
