Five Star Product AND Company!
Thank you Gizmo Vest!I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by this item! I ordered one for each of my newer GPS units (RINO 655T, and MONTANA 650T), and, because they are so nice, I will be ordering TWO MORE for my Oregon Units as well! I am a thru-hiker, geocacher, climber, and extreme outdoors-man (search and rescue/survivalist etc...). So I can admit to having a lot of experience with GPS units and their accessories. While I love those softer "Garmin" cases which are tighter... and made out of a vinyl-like substance... for city use. I really wanted something substantially "tougher" for wilderness use. Something that was tough... but at the same time allow me to easily change the batteries and operate all the functions. Something that would not interfere with the GPS signal either. Something that would be EASY to hold (having a better grip on those hot summer days, or cold winter months--with gloves on). AND offer the best protection (of course)! I found ALL OF THESE THINGS with the Gizmo Vest cases! For one thing, the grip on these "vests" is absolutely amazing! One of my primary concerns about using my newer GPS models this summer, was the fact that... when one is out in the wilderness... whether "GeoCaching"..., canoeing, camping or whatever... One has to put on bugspray, sunscreen, waterproofing, first aid compounds, and a variety of other chemicals and/or contaminates. All of that contamination can eventually lead to damage on the GPS units surfaces. Especially those rubber surfaces on those units. That rubber can also become brittle and damaged over time, causing the loss of functionality. However, this vest (while it doesn't provide actual protection of the screen, save for making it further recessed; which I happen to like). It does provide a modicum of protection for the damage caused by holding the GPS in one's hands. It also covers most of the buttons as well. For example, on the Rino 655T, the "Push-To-Talk" buttons, as well as the on/off buttons were covered over.... Making the just as easy to use, but protecting those buttons one uses most frequently from wear. As far as replacing the batteries.... It took me LESS time to remove THESE cases than would've to remove the Garmin cases! And like I've already said, while using them out in the field, the enhanced grip made them so easy to use in SO MANY outdoors situations, that it was amazing. Not to mention keeping the dust and dirt from working it's way into the unit, thereby ruining my expensive investments! Another thing, is that these cases turned out to be extremely light as well! I thought they were going to have to be heavy to protect in the way they do! But they weren't! They fit like a glove (around the camera holes especially NICE!). And are also nicely padded on the insides to further protect one's investment. Another plus which nobody else mentioned, was that these cases turned out to blend in well with all of my OTHER hiking gear (which was a real bonus in heavily populated areas where security turned out to be a concern)! The only persons which bothered me to admire my GPS unit this weekend were those whom were jealous; at the Geocaching event)! Obviously, one can customize their case even further as well! For example, I ordered the dark colored cases, but if I truly wanted to, I could easily camouflage them, or change them to any other color by using the types of "flexible" paints which Bow Hunters and outdoorsmen/women use for equipment; compound bows... arrows.... military equipment etc....There were only a few drawbacks to these cases, which can easily be dealt with (if you'd even call them drawbacks; as the cases do exactly what they are designed to do). One was the fact that it came with a shorter lanyard for handheld use only. However, it TELLS you that in the first place! Which is why it comes with a "clip" to attach it to ones belt, backpack etc... I immediately took care of this "drawback"... if you could call it that... by swapping out the lanyard with a longer 550 "Paracord" one; so that I would have that available for future "survival" and/or first aid situations. Another drawback was the fact that these cases were NOT REALLY designed for attaching to one's ATV, Car mount, or bicycle (even though future models might be). However, like I said, I ordered these cases to HOLD the GPS in my hand. And that is exactly what they're good for (they are for the heavy duty handheld use; perfect for the Rino/Montana/Oregon/Etrex user)! One other drawback, if you could call it that... because it is easily remedied too.... Is that their is no access to the earpiece or charging attachments. Neither of those things matter to me in the field, and could also be easily taken care of by putting in holes (if it was that big of a deal; but I use my units in my hand in the woods; if I want to remove the case in the car, it would only take a second to remove it and plug it in).Overall then... I would HIGHLY recommend that an outdoors "person" add one of these cases to their collection of of must have GPS gear! I would also give the company and sales people two thumbs up for actually listening to their users needs and feedback! As well as working to provide the final consumer with a great, five star, overall sales experience as well... KUDOS!!!!!!

Great case, needs to accomadate AA battery pack also
These cases are well built and work very well. The big gripe I have is when out for several days without the ability to recharge the unit, the case becomes useless after the fist day because of it inability to accept the unit with the double A battery pack. Keep this in mind if you do things that keep you away from a power source for more than a day.

Just average!
The product worked just average! I had to remove the Garmin Rino from this case every time I wanted to charge it. That is a hassle! I could not always transmit when I wanted to because the cover/case made it difficult to find the button location without looking at it. The case is very sturdy and very protective, although I needed to purchase a separate screen scratch protector.

Tough and lightweight
When I first got this case I was very surprised at how light it is. The material has a tough, durable feel to it. The overall design is very simple and easy to open/close. Because of the design there is very little chance that frequent use will wear down the case. The lanyard is a good length and is used to keep the unit closed. The bottom of the case is a solid hinge that's molded into the case. The two halves enclose the unit and are held closed using the lanyard at the top. It's very ideal not to have a clamp or something like a button snap keeping the case closed. There is much less that can wear down or break by using this design. The inside of the case is very smooth, almost like silk. I have no worries that my rino GPS will get scratched when inside the case. It offers a very snug fit and protects the device very well. The belt clip feels substantial, and will last a long time. The materials used in this case seem to be of great quality and will likely outlast the GPS unit.Overall I would highly recommend buying this. The fact that it's made in the USA and has a rugged build makes this case well worth the price. The Rino 65X series GPS units are very expensive and a good quality case will protect your investment for years.

Excellent protection for your device
This is excellent protection for my Garmin Rino 650. It fits like a glove it very light weight, durable and tough. The texture makes it easy to grip and hold. It is easy to install and remove, you loosen the lanyard by pressing the barrel cord lock and it is open. Recharging the battery is not a problem. There are indentations on the case over the three side buttons that so you can transmit or send your location with out looking at the device, the button functions work just as they do without the case. The lanyard with the clip is a great feature to protect the device from a drop. This case with a good screen protector the best solution that I could find to protect my hand held devices. The warranty is as good as you could ask for. "If you don't like it, send it back." I recommend this case, I am ordering a second case for my wife's 650 and one for my Garmin Astro.

Great customer service
I ordered this about a month ago for my Rino 610, only to find that it wouldn't fit. I called the customer service number and there was a human on the line! Apparently I was the first person to try this on the 610 and after the GizzMoVest folks did some research, they called me back in about 25 minutes and confirmed that I was correct( the battery pack on the 610 is larger than the others). Much to my surprise, they not only refunded the purchase price plus shipping but told me to keep the "vest" and when they make one for the 610 they would send me one. How often these days will a company do that for a customer!?!?Although I haven't used the gizzmovest yet, it is well built and looks plenty rugged enough to hold up to hunting, snowmobiling and other outdoor abuses I will put it through. Can't wait to get one for my 610!Thanks again to the folks at gizzmovest for their great service!
