Not what I expected
This camera is not good at all. The video was not too clear. You will need a really fast internet to put it to work. Not to mention of having a Wi-Fi extender. I set up the camera, went online to see the streaming video and waited for like 25 minutes, with a 10Mbps internet, until finally I could watch the streaming video. This is my opinion. You can take your chances; however, if you are buying this from pricefalls, make sure you have tried it before because if you return this item to them, you will lose a lot of money. I would highly recommend you to buy it from Swann's website or locally if you are not sure if you are going to like this product. It would cost you more if you return it.

horrible user interface, low image quality
I bought this camera to audit barbers in my barber shop. The camera records "events" of up to 575 pictures whenever motion is detected, approximately every second. When I go to review the events, they take forever to load, and they take forever to review (even with 10 megabit cable and i7 processor). The interface and probably the cloud servers are not well designed.icloud is total $#!t. I bought this product so I could review the customers coming in and out of the chairs throughout the day to make sure my barbers are being honest about how many haircuts they do (they pay me a percentage of revenue). It takes forever to load each event. Once the event is loaded, you click quickly to go between frames, or wait as each frame loads about every second "real-time"I don't need a pic. taken every second. Why can't I control how often pics are taken, or during what times to record? Why can I record a live feed to my smartphone but not to my pc? Why does the smartphone app work everywhere but when connected to my home wifi (the PC works fine on my home wi-fi, the app works on the shop's wi-fi and mobile network)The image quality is minimal (think 1980s VHS camcorder), and would probably not take good enough images to identify a perp if you were robbed, attacked etc.Bottom line, this camera would probably be ok for making sure you shut the garage door, or notifying you when someone enters your home or business, or maybe watching the baby. It is "fisher-price" for security or business monitoring.

Great if you can get it to work!
Great, if you can get it to work! This camera is extremely sensitive to wireless applications. If it is very far from the router, it won't work. If you leave it on, it may go off-line at any time. Sometimes, it is a snap to configure it. Other times, in the same location, the network can't be found. I have spent nearly three days on and off with technical support trying to get this camera operational. The two times I actually did get it to work, it was perfect for the application I needed it for. However, both times, the camera quit working and went off line for no apparent reason. With this lack of reliability, it would be doubtful that I will continue to use it for security. The idea of the camera is wonderful. If you spend an additional 5.99 per month, the camera will take pictures of any movement in its range (color during the day, black and white at night). A message will be sent to your cell phone telling you that the camera was activated. This is a great feature, if it were dependable. For additional money, the camera will take video instead of still pictures.Once activated, you can go to your phone app and see what was moving in the room. At any time you can also view from your phone app what the camera is seeing. While this is a great idea and has great features - including saving the photos or video on the cloud - the technology is either short of the power needed, or ineffective in implementation.Technical support is difficult to reach. Don't expect to talk to anyone with unaccented English. Two of the technical support staff put me on hold (two different calls) and I waited on hold for over twenty minutes before hanging up each time. A ten to twenty minute wait for technical support is not uncommon. I called many times, so I feel I have a fair handle on the speed in answering calls. If you know of a more dependable camera, I'd like to know about it so I an trash this one and purchase one that is reliable.

Doesn't Reconnect to WiFi Automatically
The camera is time consuming to set up, but not complicated. The image produced is okay, and the iPhone SwannSmart app is relatively easy to use. My major complaint is that the camera does not automatically reconnect to WiFi if it loses connection. This means that it has to be taken down and completely reconfigured before it works again. Since cameras are generally mounted in a high, out of the way location, this is a pain. When you add to that the time to reconfigure it, remount it, and reorient it, you can budget at least 45 minutes of time every time there is a blip in power or internet connection. Very frustrating!
