No spills and hot forever
Literally the best travel mug ever. Coffee stays hot for hours, particularly if you pre-warm it with hot water. And the secure spot and lock function mean you can chuck it in your bag (or bike drink holder!) and it won’t spill! Totally worth the money.

It's a Zojirushi
Just buy it, you won't regret it

I am a HUGE fan of Zojirushi but this travel mug has left me very disappointed. I have two of the 20oz mugs that are the skinny design. They are hands down the best at keeping your beverage HOT. I ordered the travel mug because I thought it would have the same performance as the other mugs while having a wider mouth that would fit my aeropress. It doesn't and the difference is quite noticeable. If you drink 16oz quickly for example, your commute for work, you wouldn't notice much temperature loss. For me I drink my 16oz over half of my shift at work. By the time I'm done my coffee is just warm at best. I ran a test using the travel mug and 20oz mug. Both had 16oz of boiling water. After 10 hours the travel mug was holding at 100 degrees and the skinner mug design was at 140 degrees. That's a hug loss in comparison. I don't know if the ceramic coating in the skinner design has something to do with it. Other than the temp loss the travel mug is excellent with its locking lid and build quality. If I didn't want it for the aeropress I'd be sending it back. You would be better off spending your money on the skinny mug 16oz or 20oz if your just after something to keep your liquids hot. Brand wise nothing I've used is better than Zojirushi and I've spent a small fortune on insulated bottles and mugs.

Cover peeled off within 8 months but great mug otherwise.
So I have tried every type of travel mug I think. I had the original Zojirushi but was annoyed that it didn't fit in my cup holders very well so when I saw this model I bought it. Unfortunatly it's not as easy to clean as the other model, although it's still way better than any other travel mug. My main issue is the paint coating peeled off in under a year. I only put in in the dishwasher maybe a half dozen times over the time I owned it. They would not replace under warranty although Amazon being Amazon they did help me out. Bottom line, buy the stainless steel version!

Very poor heat retention.
I have owned a Zojirushi travel mug for several years, and was extremely pleased with it’s heat retention. Coffee would stay hot for well over 6 hours. I had to replace it as the teflon liner started to peal away. The heat retention of this new mug is very disappointing. Even pre-heating the mug first doesn’t seem to help much. Hot coffee is luke warm within a couple hours. I am not sure if I received a mug with a defective vacuum seal, but it does not perform as well a a cheap Walmart version. Very disappointed and would not recommend.
