Q: Would this be okay for 2 smallish homing pigeons?

I do not know how big your "smallish" homing pigeons are, but it is too small for two parakeets (budgies). And definitely too small for 2 love birds. Plus, these are really scratchy and the basket is much shallower than I expected it would be. Anyway, I only bought one as a tester and none of my parakeets or love birds sit on it...and I think that is because first and foremost, it is very scratchy and secondly, too shallow. What they do love are the hollowed out coconut shell houses...which if I recall are about $9 each. My parakeets and love birds all love those and 2 fit inside easily enough. If your homing pigeons are bigger than love birds, then only one will fit, but I have also taken 2 of these coconut houses and cut out the sides of each one and then "glued" them together. So each coconut has the same front hole opening but in effect it is now twice as big. As for this rattan bird swing...it is scratchy and sharp, but then it is made of rattan which is scratchy, stiff, and can have sharp edges. I would pass on it. I hope this helps.

Q: Would a small or large be good for a sun conure?

I purchased a large for my green cheek which the size was great but his beak got stuck in the blue bell while I was gone. Came home to him scared and stuck for who knows how long.

Remember that it’s bowl shaped, so you’d have to flatten it to really get the full diameter. Plus, 7 is 1 less than 8 😜

Q: How many inches across is the small nest?

I would say about 6 inches. More than big enough for two parakeets to play on. Also put one in my Cockateil cage. They all love it.
