Ho Yoku 0-10-10 Soil Enhancer - Used During The Fall and Winter Months, Does Not Promote Foliage Growth + Keeps The Tree's Root System Healthy and Aids in Flowering

Successful container pot gardening and seedling care can be especially difficult, as potting soils lose their nutrition over time (as compared to in-ground planting which has ready access to its environment). Further circumstances and plant type also dictate nutritional needs. In particular, transplanting or ‘up-potting’ can be especially traumatic for plants. They need time to adjust to the shock, and shouldn’t be trying to put out new foliage (that nitrogen encourages) at the same time. Rather, they need help strengthening their root systems and stems. While this product is recommended for fall and winter, I go by what NPK I understand my plants need at any particular time.I initially bought this 0-10-10 product to help up-pot my 4-year-old 3’ tall fig tree. The tree is quite skinny for its age, but already has put out 4” of new growth, huge leaves, and its very first fig buds, just over-wintering in my garage plus a general spring fertilizer dose. Then, before I was able to bring it out for the season, I realized my little cilantro seedlings, still indoors in their silicone cells, prefer no-nitrogen fertilizing. So this morning, as a canary-in-the-coal-mine test, I gave the seedling this product (diluted as directed). If and only if my cilantro responds well, I’ll use it on my fig tree when I transplant it. My 5-star rating is based entirely on ease of use. I’ll update this review once I see results.
