Convenient and Easy to Use
I've been using these patches for quite some time on my M-4, and they do the trick quite well. They're easy to use with the Otis cleaning system. Just insert the brass slotted tip through one of the patch's slots, pinch the patch upward on the edge, fish through the slotted tip, and pull up. This forms a bulb shape creating a 360 degree cleaning surface. They do leave a few fiber strands behind but it's not a deal breaker. They're still quite tough.I've never been a fan of cleaning rifles using rods. I feel they can do more harm than good such as damaging the rifling inside your barrel. There's even the occasional hassle of getting the cleaning rod jammed up barrel and having to use quite a bit of elbow grease to remove it. Not to mention when using the cleaning rod method, you're inserting the cleaning rod opposite the bullet's direction of travel and pushing much of the fouling and gun powder back into the chamber unlike with the Otis system. I highly recommend using these patches and the Otis firearms cleaning system.

Work well, nice quality
There's not a lot to be said about patches, as they're simple and have one purpose. These patches excel at what they're supposed to do though, and I will purchase more of them when they run out.The cloth quality is pretty impressive (they hold up well even to being wrapped around copper bristles!). I can find 1000 uses for them (on scrappers, wrapped on brushes, wiped via finger, etc.), but they excel at cleaning out your barrel on a rod.My biggest complaint is the advertising ploy that says you can use them up to six times. I usually get between 2 - 4 uses, with 2 or 3 being most common. Unless my barrel is already mostly clean, there no way you can get that much use out of these. But that's AOK as their design is great and they do their job. I'll just buy more when the time comes. If you need patches for your AR-15, or whatever else small caliber gun you've got, these things will do great.

Good replacement for a well used Otis cleaning kit.
I use these to make the cone shaped, parachute type, that is recommended with Otis cord sets. I have used the original Otis set for cleaning all of my barrels. Cleaning the bore in this way, eliminates or greatly reduces the metal on metal contact when cleaning. I read and article from a barrel manufacturer, that said 90% of inside of barrel surface imperfections or gouges were not from shooting, they were from improper cleaning. Basically the rod being wedged against the bore and shoved down the barrel. This takes that problem out of the equation. These are not normal cleaning pads bc of the hole configuration. These are to be used with the Otis cleaning cords.

These are stock Otis patches
If your going to use otis cleaning products then use only otis products with the cleaning systems because they are made to work together perfectly, once you figure out how to correctly attach the patches to the slotted tips your golden because they give 360 degree coverage every pass through the bore and each patch can be used up to six separate passes per patch by using each slot once and then turn the patch over and use the same three slots in the patch again, so you can really maximize your use of each patch which actually saves you money this way. There isn't any bad points I can think of about these patches other then the price is a little high at almost $10.00 per 100 patches but if you use each patch 6 times it's almost like your getting 600 patches worth of use.... Anyway these are a must have item when your initial stock that came with your cleaning kit runs out and I have a fairly large gun collection and I'm always cleaning one or another so it helps to be able to use each patch more then onceBC

Otis cleaning patches
Vendor shipped promptly, exactly as described.I've used the Otis cleaning system for about a year. We go to the range about 3X a month, I get stuck with cleaning afterward. I thought my guns were clean prior to the Otis system but they were not. The first thing I noticed was it took me twice as long to clean anything using the coated cables, patches and accessories. On average 3 hours but this includes all trigger actions, breeches, BCG's etc. the Otis system is predominatley for barrel cleaning. After much practice my time never improved, but when I'm done the barrels are very clean and I do mean very clean. There is a rubber (urethane maybe) disc for 12ga barrels, best invention ever. Otis states you can use each patch 6X let's examine that. Setting at a bench figuring out how many different ways to manuver the patch onto the tool isn't what I do, neither was it the deciding factor in my origonal purchase, it serves only to anger me now. My mission is cleaning, not hype. You can use the patch 6X, you can use it 10X, you can put them in the wash and hang them to dry with tiny clothes pins and use them 10X more, I don't care. For me and mine when the patch is visibly dirty I AM NOT running it back through my weapon.
