Vacmaster VWMB508 1101 5-Gal 5 PHP Remote Control Wall Mount Wet/Dry Vac

This was purchased to replace a large 12 gallon rolling shop vac. with a 6' long 2.5" hose. The suction on the Vacmaster is weaker than the one I am replacing but that was expected due to the lower HP and longer hose. The biggest reason for my purchase was a smaller footprint with the wall mounted vacuum really saved me on space in my small shop/garage. The hose length can reach most of the garage and has sufficient suction to clean up saw dust and other debris. I really like the convenience of having it mounted on the wall and ready to use as needed. I also really like the remote switch at the tool end of the hose. I wont use it as a blower so cannot comment on that function. I did a side by side comparison with this Vacmaster and the Craftsman 5 gallon wall mounted shop vac, both at the same price as of this writing. The Vacmaster definitely won on the suction tug of war test I did with it, overpowering the Craftsman every time. So between the two, I kept the Vacmaster and returned the Craftsman. Also this Vac will accept vacuum bags and the Craftsman as I understand it will not. So far I am happy with this purchase.

Simple, lightweight, and perfectly designed for a clean garage setup. I mounted the Vacmaster 5-gallon wall mount wet/dry vac in my garage and it has been a great upgrade. It’s simple to operate, lightweight, and really well thought out from a day-to-day usability standpoint. Cleanup is easy too, which matters a lot with a wet/dry vac that gets used often. Performance has been excellent. I’ve used it for dirt, water, metal debris, and organic messes, and it has never failed me. Suction is strong and consistent, and it handles switching between different types of cleanup without drama. The hose length is one of my favorite parts. The hoses are long enough that, with it mounted in place, I can clean my entire two-car garage without taking it off the wall. That’s the whole point of a wall mount unit, and this one actually delivers. I also love that it doesn’t take up any floor space, which keeps the garage looking organized. One unexpected bonus: the red color looks great. I keep my garage pretty clean, and this actually looks like a purposeful piece of equipment instead of an eyesore hanging on the wall. If you want a reliable wet/dry vac that’s easy to use, easy to clean, and keeps your floor space open, this is an easy recommendation.

I can’t believe the Bluetooth switch in the handle isn’t standard on all shop vacs at this point. Absolutely brilliant idea. Certainly convenient if you’re using this vac as a dust collector for your slide saw or table saw, and you don’t have the automatic switch receptacle that turns on your shop vac when you turn on your tool. To be clear, the Bluetooth on/off switch is attached to the curved handle accessory that goes between the wand and the hose. That accessory is too big to fit into a pocket so if you need to use it for power tool dust collection and don’t want it connected between the dust port and the hose, it will need to be placed next to your stationary tool to use it. Especially helpful if your stationary tool is battery powered, in which case the plug in auto on switch receptacle wouldn’t work anyhow. Lots cheaper than buying cordless tools and a vac that can communicate with them. Hose size is 1 7/8” and the vac capacity is only about five gallons or less if you use a bag with it, so it’s not a replacement for a real dust collection system, but for the occasionally used home shop that this retired carpenter has now, it should be more than adequate for my slide saw, table saw and cordless sander. I wouldn’t expect it to work with a planer or shaper though. The wall mount is well engineered, and the three mounting holes are in a straight line one above the other, so if you locate a stud, you’re golden. For the price, I think it’s a fantastic deal, and if it came with a dust brush accessory, I’d call it real close to perfect. Absolutely love the Bluetooth switch. Wish I had invented it.

I bought this vacuum soley because I liked the Bluetooth on off switch in the hose. It's a very nice option and I like that it comes out of the hose and you can set it beside you in the vehicle. I find with it attached it makes it hard to get into tight areas. I think they could have made the crevis tool a lot better.. I do not like it at all. It's big and doesn't fit in tight areas. To get into those areas like in between seats I use the one that narrows down into a circle at the end and then my old crevis tool from my previous vacuum and it works well. I also like this vacuum because it is quiet. It could be a little stronger suction and the hose could be longer especially if it's supposed to be mounted to a wall it would be nice to be a little longer. I think the price is a little expensive but I think time will tell. I spent more on a different name brand one and it didn't last a year. Overall nice and would probably buy again if nothing else for a spare one.

Great design and does several jobs for me. The fact that it can be used as a car wash style vacuum is terrific. It works well in both applications mounted and unmounted. The suction is really good and the remote handle is awesome. The best part of this unit is its incredibly long reach with tons of hose and a 18ft cord. I'm not sure you can match this quality and design for the price and it really feels like a great value to me. I also must add the pictures do not do justice and it looks impressive in person.

Great suction power, long hose so you can reach all parts of the car. Installs easily and ca. be lifted off if you need to go mobile with it. Some reviews state while using the on/off feature on the handle the unit will randomly startup. I have not experienced that issue, but I turn the unit off when I am doing using it for the day. While I’m using it, I will use the handle feature as I’m moving around. Being able to have the unit mounted to the wall, it frees up space and any potential trip hazard of the power cord or the unit itself.

This is so handy. Hangs on my garage wall so that I can vacuum my car in an instant so it never gets gross. I have a love hate relationship with shop vacs. I love the power they usually have but they are always topple over. This one is attached to the wall with its own bracket and a long hose that you can drape over out of the way. But if you need to take it elsewhere it comes off the bracket simply.

I love the way it looks and hangs. Not happy at all with suction. I would not recommend.

What a great little vacuum. I set this up on my garage wall. With it's very long suction hose and wifi control this couldn't be any better. I wouldn't wait, just buy this!!

Nice vacuum for the garage but i wish it had attachments for in between seats for cars. The handle switch on/off can be use even if not attached to the hose which is nice. It is a very quiet vaccum compare to the shop-vac i had before. Suction is good. would have given it 5 stars if it had more hose attachments. All in all, it is a nice vacuum and does the job quite well.

I was pretty impressed at how well this unit sucks. It comes with some really long lines which is great also. The holding tank isn't huge on this unit though, it fills up pretty fast if you are cleaning up a mess. For me that was a bit of a pain, but I guess you are trading off a more portable unit for a smaller tank size.

It is being used in our workshop and has performed well so far. It is quiet which we really like but it has not yet been put to the sawdust collection test so cannot offer a review on that front.
