This ODB2 Scanner is simply amazing and a must have.
Setup was simple and quick after registration. It literally has almost EVERY car that uses ODB2. WAY cheaper than a snapon or similar unit and can do all the same things. I am just a shade tree mechanic and I don't know why I didn't get one of these sooner. It makes troubleshooting cars so much easier all though it is a learning curve if you have never used one. Highly recommend especially for the price point!

Superb and truly helpful....
I've used OBD reader devices often and saved myself money almost every time. When the trouble light comes on and I can't figure out what it is, I take out the OBD reader and learn that it's a fuel issue, likely from the gas cap not being placed back on securely. No need to take it to the mechanic. Clear the code with the reader and you're on your way. Same with a number of other problems. It is possible to make false assumptions with this. Your trouble light flares but the car seems to be running well and so you hope it's a minor issue and clear the codes. Three months later the same code pops up again and again you don't know what the precise cause is--the code CAN be caused by a lot of different things and is notorious for coming back no matter what your replace. So you hope it's minor and clear the code again, hoping the issue, if real, will repeat again with more discernible symptoms to allow diagnosis. But, you may just be ignoring something major. You really need to know your car's behaviour and be able to judge symptoms others might not notice if you're going to clear codes willy-nilly with this.I am currently using the real-time live data capability with my Foxwell scanner to determine what's causing the check engine light to light up on my wife's Subaru. The code that comes with the light is notorious for popping up over and over again in her car no matter what part you replace, but Youtube repair videos suggest it's probably a bad fuel-air ratio sensor on the manifold, and they instruct you on using the live data ability of this OBD device to read voltage levels in the sensor to check whether it is the problem. This kind of precise identification of problems is a great strength of scanners like this. I've used Bluetooth scanners that communicate with my phone, together with the Torque app on my phone, to do similar diagnosing in the past, but I'm tired of all the kludgy workarounds to make the Bluetooth connection work and get the needed info . This dedicated scanner is just so much more reliable and simpler to use...This scanner can bleed the ABS system in many car types (check to see if it works in your car). It also can analyze codes in the SRS (supplemental restraint system, or airbags). It cannot clear crash data. It can clear oil codes and work on a number of other systems that cheaper OBD readers may not be capable of working with.Comes with the ability to update information for newer cars from the Foxwell web site.

A good value Scanner for home mechanics
My husband is a home mechanic and wanted to upgrade his scanner from the basic one he was using. We buy a few cars a year and do a lot of the repairs ourselves so a good scanner that can work with all the major makes and models and clear and reset some of the more troublesome codes was a big plus. This scanner does all that and more, it has a large easy to read screen and is very rugged, I hope it is as durable as it looks and feels. It has a very nice carrying case with room for all the connections and a few extra bits. The included 16gb micro sd card is nice and the usb cable also allows for free updates thru the PC.This scanner was in my price range and appears to be a good value for the home mechanic or someone who buys and sells cars and needs to have this tool to make informed decisions before buying used cars from individuals.

Gold standard- Foxwell is among the best
I’ve had a couple of different OBD devices over the years, including the smart-phone Bluetooth ones, but never one like this. This thing is absolutely amazing. Don’t buy any of those cheap little ones from Autozone or wherever. This thing is where it’s at!This is one of those rare tools that can help push your skills to the next level by giving you everything you were missing as far as information and capability goes.I use this on all my cars (Ram EcoDiesel, Honda Accord, & Silverado) as they’re all rebuild projects that throw the occasional code.I’m currently rebuilding a 2015 VW Golf TDI that was a flood car, so I’ve been having lots of issues with various sensors and modules. This thing has been invaluable in helping me do troubleshooting and has saved me a lot of money where I might have otherwise been tempted to just start throwing parts at the problem.I’ve also been able to help out a few friends and random strangers by just having this kicking around in the back of my car when they mention they’ve got a problem.110% recommend this to anyone with even an inkling to tinker with your own cars.

Best value all system scanner
I picked this up for my buddy who owns a body shop, he needs to scan cars and make reports of them almost every single day. Normally he has to give up this job to someone else who either comes to scan the cars or bring the cars to another shop to have them scanned. This system does the job that he needs, he can scan every car model and all the cars systems. This is important to be able to read systems outside of the basic OBD-2 ECM/ECU codes. This system lets him scan Airbags, ABS, BCM codes to see what happened with the car in the accident. This then lets him be able to save the report to give it to the insurance company as part of his quote. He loves this unit overall and after testing a variety of these units, I think this one is the best value by far!

Good Mid level Scanner
I like this scanner. It is a good mid level scanner that has some nice features ,the best I feel is the live data which lets you view your operating systems in real time which is helpful to diagnose certain conditions. I have found many of the mid level scanners do not have this. The scanner was easy to set up and use right out of the box. The screen is nice and crisp and the function keys respond nicely. This is a great scanner for you're everyday guy who needs to read and or clear a code. Professionals will opt for a more advanced model but this should fit the majority of DIY users. 5 STARS
